Hello everyone, I'm Tongmu. In this article, let's talk about the aesthetic issues of landscape painting.
Do you feel relaxed when you see a landscape?Why?Some people may say that because people yearn for nature, they will yearn for natural scenery when they see it.
I think that's just one of the reasons. Because we do have an innate sense of belonging to the natural environment. But do we really yearn for it?Throughout the process of human civilization, you will find that human beings are in fact constantly moving away from nature, and nature is just our material for establishing and growing a circle of life independent of nature. Otherwise, if you are left alone in the environment in the picture, I can't think of a day when you will regret it. You will feel lonely, lonely, and unable to sustain your life. Because humans are social creatures, we can only survive in a society that cooperates with each other. Except for special forces.
If that's the case, then why do we still feel relaxed?
I don't think what we appreciate is the environment, what we appreciate is the vitality and the form of freedom that is free from bondage.
For example, the vitality of trees, which rises from the ground and points to the sky, is admirable for its resolute vitality and form away from the ground.
For example, the bird that soars in the sky, I think it is considered the noblest of all animals. In our totem, the phoenix is a bird, and there are others, even if they are not birds, they can basically fly. Because flying is a totem in the human subconscious, he represents freedom. So when we see the birds in the painting, our subconscious yearning for freedom will be activated.
For example, flowing water, which has no vitality in itself, but it flows on the still ground, breaking through the silence, and we understand it as life, which flows freely;
Another example is crystal, if there are fish in the water, it can barely catch up with life, but this kind of hard and cold stone has nothing to do with life. But we still find it spiritual. Why?Because its shape is upward, it makes a gesture of breaking free. Moreover, when he encounters light, he will refract and reflect it, and give off a charming light, so we understand that it has vitality and like it.
So when you look at a beautiful landscape painting, you will be amazed. And when you see the Gobi Desert or Mars, you feel very uncomfortable, dead, lifeless, and hopeless.
So when we look at landscape paintings, we appreciate the vitality, the vitality, the detachment from the dead silence and the yearning for freedom. He has nothing to do with carnal desires such as eating, drinking, lust, etc., he is the third type of thinking, the thinking after the brain is freed from instinctual desires.
So why do humans have such emotions?I think it's because our brains, like birds, yearn for freedom, but they can't get out of the ground or our bodies. So when the brain sees a life that is struggling to thrive, our consciousness will empathize.
