At 12:10 on December 4China successfully launched the Egypt-2 satellite using the Long March-2C carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and the satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. The mission also carried two satellites, the second group A and B satellites of the first Xingchi No. 1. The Egypt-2 satellite is mainly used for the census of Egypt's land and resources to meet the needs of Egyptian users in the fields of agriculture, forestry, urban construction, environment and disaster monitoring. The two satellites are mainly used to provide users with commercial remote sensing services.

This mission is the 499th launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles.

According to the agreement between China and Egypt on the Egypt-2 satellite project, China developed and launched an optical remote sensing satellite with a resolution of 2 meters (panchromatic) and 8 meters (multispectral) for EgyptThe satellite integration test center built with the assistance of China is used to conduct the satellite and test.

With the support of the Ministry of Commerce, the China International Development Cooperation Agency, the China National Space Administration and other units, the Egypt-2 satellite project is a landmark project for in-depth international cooperation in the field of aerospace high-tech. During the joint development of the satellite, the Chinese side conducted training on the system-level design and test operation of the whole satellite to the Egyptian technicians, and the Egyptian technicians were deeply involved in the whole process of satellite design, development and testing. Through this project cooperation, Egypt's industrial system has been further improved from the development of "upstream" satellites, the construction and operation of "midstream" ground facilities to the processing, sharing and application of "downstream" satellite data, laying the foundation for deepening the follow-up cooperation between China and Egypt in the field of aerospace.
