Why did Ming Xuanzong put Zhu Gaoxu in a vat and cook him alive?Don t believe it

On the streets of Baoding in February 1990, the cold wind was biting, and there were few pedestrians on the streets. At the gate of a certain camp of the 38th Army, an old man with a peasant's appearance and gray stubble walked towards the gate of the camp with the support of a young man. The guards spotted the two approaching from a long distance and asked them who they were looking for as they approachedWhat's the matter?Faced with this question, the old man said with some embarrassment: "I don't know who our current chief is?"I don't know who to turn to. Then the old man slowly took out a demobilization certificate and disability certificate from his pocket, and said: "I am a veteran of the 38th Army, and I have participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. The guards took the documents and saw that this old man was indeed an old-timer of the army, so after registering the identities of the two according to the regulations, he notified the reception room of the Political Department.

Officer Xie of the Secretariat happened to be on duty that day and rushed to the door as soon as he received the notice. After the old man saw Officer Xie walking towards him, he immediately stepped forward and held his hand: "I can be regarded as having found the troops, I am so happy to see you!."Officer Xie didn't understand the situation at all, and asked with some surprise: "Are you ......?"Do we know each other? The old man was obviously too excited, he suddenly stood still, saluted with a military salute, and said seriously: "Li Yu'an, a veteran of the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion of the 335th Regiment of the 112th Division of the 38th Army, has come to report. Officer Xie was a little confused by the scene in front of him, but fortunately, the young man who came to Li Yu'an explained in time: "This is my uncle, he is a veteran of our 38th Army, his name is Li Yuan." It is the Li Yu'an in the list of martyrs of the Songgu Peak battle. "Officer Xie was a little shocked, thinking that he had heard it wrong, the martyr was still alive?Although he was not familiar with the name Li Yuan, the battle of Songgu Peak, which was well-known in the history of the 38th Army, he looked at the old man in front of him with some doubts. Seeing that he was a little unconvinced, the young man hurriedly took the demobilization certificate and disability certificate from Li Yu'an's hand and handed them to Secretary Xie, and then took out a middle school textbook from his bag, quickly turned to the article "Who is the cutest person", pointed to a paragraph of text inside, and showed it to Secretary Xie, "Look, this Li Yu'an is my uncle!."”

For this text, Secretary Xie naturally read it, but he did not remember the name of the martyr mentioned above, and when he looked along the place pointed by the young man, he saw this text:

"This is the most heroic battle on the Korean battlefield - the battle of Songgu Peak, or the battle of Shutang Station. If there is a need to erect a monument, let me write down the names of the martyrs who fought the enemy with fire and fought to the death with bayonets. Their names are: Wang Jinchuan, Xing Yutang, and Hu Chuan.

9. Jing Yuzhuo, Wang Wenying, Xiong Guanquan, Wang Jinhou, Zhao Xijie, Sui Jinshan, Li Yuan, Ding Zhendai, Zhang Guisheng, Cui Yuliang, Li Shuguo. There is also a warrior whose name is already impossible to know. Let our martyrs be immortal for thousands of years!”

Officer Xie looked at the documents in his hand, and after repeatedly confirming Li Yuan'an's name and the original unit, he felt a "buzz" in his head, feeling that this matter was not trivial, and the old soldier in front of him turned out to be a "living martyr". After taking the two to the reception room, he quickly reported the matter to the head of the unit. So, why did Li Yu'an become a "martyr" even though he was still alive? After so many years, why didn't he come out earlier to clarify? He came to the army this time, in addition to explaining his identity, is there anything else?

The elderly Li Yu'an, all of this has to start with the well-known article "Who is the cutest person". On November 29, 1950, in the second battle to resist US aggression and aid Korea, the 335th Regiment of the 38th Army, where Li Yu'an was located, as the vanguard force, received an order to cut off the retreat route of the 2nd Division of the US Army and the 3rd Division of South Korea to flee to the south, and immediately marched 200 miles to Shutang Station, the designated place. Just when our army arrived at the designated place at about 5 a.m. on the 30th, the front-line troops of the 2nd Regiment of the 9th Division of the US Army also rushed to the place. In this encounter between the two sides, the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion of our army was one step ahead of the enemy to seize a commanding heights on the enemy's inevitable road - Songgu Peak, the US army originally only wanted to retreat south, and did not want to fight, but after seeing that the commanding heights were occupied, there was no way to retreat, and Songgu Peak must be captured to complete the withdrawal.

As a result, the enemy dispatched 32 aircraft, 18 tanks, and 24 howitzers to launch a fierce attack on our troops occupying Songgu Peak. Li Yu'an's 3rd Company is the main force defending the position at Songgu Peak. The fighters were not intimidated by the enemy's indiscriminate bombardment, and again and again they picked up and repelled five enemy attacks and held their positions. Each time an attack was stopped, the frustrated enemy unleashed even more furious artillery fire, until by the end of the battle, "the whole hilltop was overturned, and the flames of the petrol bombs burned the position red." "Even the hard stones are crispy after being roasted for a long time, not to mention the flesh and blood. The battle lasted for 8 hours, and the soldiers of the 3rd Company ran out of bullets and fought with the enemy with bayonets, while the wounded soldiers rolled to the burning pyre of gasoline bombs with the enemy in their arms at the last moment, and died with the enemy. Watching the soldiers fall one by one, Li Yu'an also put life and death aside, he loaded the bayonet and jumped out of the trench, starting a white-knuckle battle with the enemy. As a veteran who participated in the Battle of Siping, the Battle of Liaoxi, the Battle of Pingjin, and the Battle of Crossing the River, and was awarded first-class merit many times, Li Yu'an's white-knuckle combat kung fu was very good, and after he assassinated 3 enemies, he was hit in the right lung by the fourth American soldier, and then lost consciousness.

In Wei Wei's later reportage "Who is the cutest person", the tragedy of this battle is described in detail:

After the battle, on the positions of this company, the guns were completely shattered, and machine gun parts were thrown all over the mountain. The corpses of the martyrs were in various poses, some hugged the enemy's waist, some hugged the enemy's head, some stuck the enemy's neck, knocked the enemy to the ground, fell together with the enemy, and burned together. There was also a soldier who was still holding a grenade in his hand, and the body of the bullet was stained with brains, and the American devil who died with him had his brains cracked and smeared on the ground. There was another warrior with half of the enemy's ear in his mouth. When burying the bodies of the martyrs, because they clasped their hands and held the enemy so tightly that they could not separate them, some of their fingers were broken.
Although the 3rd Company completed the blocking task assigned by the superiors and killed more than 600 enemies, the 3rd Company also paid a heavy price, with more than 100 soldiers, and only 7 survived in the end. After the war, when our army cleaned up the battlefield, it was completely impossible to distinguish the faces and names of the soldiers, because most of the soldiers who died were burned beyond recognition by incendiary bombs.

Everyone thought that Li Yu'an had sacrificed, because the commander of the 1st Battalion was in the telescope at that time, and he did see Li Yu'an rushing down the hill to fight with the enemy, and then fell to the ground. In the later "Military History Side Edition" of a certain unit of the 38th Army, Li Yu'an's bravery was also recorded:

"After the shelling, the enemy charged ...... from three sidesThere were only 6 people left in the second row, and Xiong Guanquan finished the last shuttle*** Li Yu'an finished the last row of charge*** Two people picked up guns without bullets and rushed into the enemy group. Six comrades wrestled and scuffled with the enemy, killing and wounding dozens of enemies, and finally all died honorably. ”
Through a three-month visit, he personally interviewed Yang Dayi, commander of the 112th Division of the 38th Army, Fan Tianen, commander of the 335th Regiment, and 7 soldiers of the 3rd Company who were still alive, and accompanied by Yang Dayi, personally climbed the Songgu Peak, which had been scorched by artillery bombardment and there was no plant. Then, Wei Wei wrote the reportage "Who is the cutest person", which was published in the people's ** of that year, and then included in middle school textbooks, and this article also influenced several generations of Chinese. In the article, Wei Wei mentioned the names of more than a dozen martyrs who had been posthumously recognized as martyrs based on interview materials and army documents, and Li Yuan was among them.

Writer Wei Wei Since then, Li Yu'an has been on the list of "martyrs" for 40 years, until he appeared in everyone's field of vision in 1990. So, how did Li Yuan, who has already entered the list of martyrs, survive? It was only through his recollections that many years later we figured out the origin of this "mistake". It turned out that after Li Yu'an was shot and fell, he did not sacrifice, but only lost consciousness, and when he woke up, there were no living people in the position. Surrounded by the corpses of his comrades and enemies, the scorching scorched earth covered the plants on the ground, and he burst into tears as he looked at the devastated position. Because he did not know the state of the battle at that time, and he did not know whether the position was safe or not, and if an enemy appeared, his situation would be very critical, so he endured his wounds and climbed down the mountain, and every time he climbed a distance, he had to rest for a while. Just as he was about to climb to the bottom of the mountain, a Korean People's Army commander spotted him. Although neither side could understand the other's language, both confirmed that the other was "their own person" through their military uniforms. In this way, Li Yu'an was carried by the trumpeter to a nearby unmanned farmhouse. Due to the intensity of the war, many Koreans fled everywhere to escape the war. Not long after, a regiment of our army escorting prisoners of war passed by, and the Korean commander immediately reported to our army, after which Li Yu'an was transferred to a field hospital in a cave, where he immediately underwent a thoracotomy operation.

During this period, Li Yu'an has been in a coma. Due to the limited medical conditions on the front line, Li Yu'an did not improve after a few days of observation, and the hospital decided to send him back to China for acceptance**. As a result, Li Yu'an was transported back to China, transferred to several hospitals, and underwent 8 surgeries successively, and his injuries were stabilized, but his body was disabled and he recuperated in a hospital in Mudanjiang. In 1951, Li Yuan, who was better injured, did not know that he had entered the list of martyrs, and he reported again and again, preparing to go to the front line to continue fighting. However, due to his physical condition, the organization rejected his request and demobilized him. In this way, Li Yu'an ended his military career and was demobilized. Because the 38th Army was still on the Korean battlefield at that time, Li Yu'an's demobilization information was not transmitted to the original troops, but was organized in the rear of Mudanjiang to help handle the procedures. After Li Yu'an left the army with the "Disability Certificate" and "Demobilization Certificate", he was arranged to work as an ordinary worker in the grain depot of Xinglong Town, Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province in July 1952 because of his military exploits in the Liberation War and his status as a disabled soldier.

When he first came to work at the grain depot, the leader saw that he was physically disabled, so he arranged for him to be a grain depot guard. However, this seemingly idle job is actually very responsible. He had to be stationed on the front line for fire prevention and theft, and night patrols were commonplace, and sometimes employees had conflicts with locals, and he had to mediate from them, and it didn't take long for him to be promoted to security squad leader because of his conscientious and responsible work. Later, due to Li Yuan'an's uprightness, the leader transferred him to the post of a weight inspector, which was also the longest job he had done. In fact, the weight inspector checks the weight of the grain in and out of the grain depot and counts the weight of the grain. The importance of this work is self-evident, and it requires that the inspectors must be fair and not engage in favoritism. When he first arrived at this post, many people often asked the relationship to send local products to Li Yu'an, the purpose was to hope that he could "help" when weighing and make some fuss about the catties, but every time Li Yu'an encountered this situation, he scolded the other party, "I was rectified by these means, and I wanted to take advantage of the country through me, but there was no door." Over time, the local grain sellers knew that Li Yu'an was an upright person, and no one dared to think crookedly. After working for a few years, Li Yu'an also married a wife and had children in Bayan County and settled down. Although he was a native of Taiwan, Henan, for the needs of the motherland's construction, he worked hard, gave up the opportunity to return to his hometown to work, and took root in Heilongjiang. In the work of conscientiousness, there has not been a mistake, in the work of the grain station, 16 times was rated as an advanced worker.

Li Yu'an, who worked hard with his wife, often recalled those comrades-in-arms and troops on the Korean battlefield, but he did not know that he had already become a "martyr". He remembers one day in the late 50s of the last century, when a neighbor's child came back from school, when he met Li Yu'an, he asked a question that surprised him a little. The child asked, "Uncle Li, is it you the Li Yuan in the text of "Who is the cutest person"?Li Yu'an was suddenly asked like this, and he was a little confused, feeling that he didn't know any writers, and he didn't have any deeds to be written, so he replied: "No, how can we ordinary people enter the text." It should be someone with the same name and surname!Li Yu'an didn't take this matter to heart, and he didn't go to the text that the kid said to read it. In a blink of an eye, in 1964, Li Yu'an went to the county to change the disabled soldier's certificate and met Wang Jiuhai, an old comrade-in-arms during the Liberation War. However, this encounter made Wang Jiuhai very surprised, although the two were not in the same company during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, but Li Yu'an died in the Songgu Peak Resistance Battle, Wang Jiuhai knew, "Why are you still alive?"Wasn't it sacrificed a long time ago?I also attended your group memorial service!Wang Jiuhai's words made Li Yuan realize the seriousness of the problem. Later, his old comrades-in-arms told him that his name was also written by Wei Wei into "Who is the cutest person", and this article had a great influence in the country. After returning home, Li Yu'an immediately asked his daughter to turn out the text of "Who is the cutest person", and he carefully read it word by word. Looking at the battle scene described in the article and the battle of Songgu Peak, Li Yu'an determined that the "Li Yuan" mentioned in the article was himself.

This is also the first time he knows that he is on the list of "martyrs". Although he has confirmed it in his heart, when his daughter asked him "Is Li Yu'an in the text you", he still didn't admit it directly: "There are many people with the same name and surname, let's inquire and talk about it." As for why he did not admit that the "martyr" Li Yu'an was himself in the early days, Li Yu'an said in his later years: "I have already enjoyed the care of the state and the organization, and I can't open this mouth anymore." The results have also been written, and I am extremely lucky to compare them with those comrades who have sacrificed. Although he was very satisfied with his life, in fact, Li Yu'an's family was not happy back then. He and his wife gave birth to a total of 6 children, his wife has no formal job, and the family of 8 basically relies on his monthly salary of 50 yuan to survive. In 1978, Li Yu'an was about to reach retirement age, and the unit had a chance to raise his salary, but there was only one quota for the town's grain depot. The leader gave him this opportunity, which was supposed to be Li Yuan's last chance to adjust his salary, but after careful consideration, he still gave the application form to another colleague whose family has a larger family. In 1980, Li Yu'an retired with honor. Although Li Yu'an does not want to cause trouble to the country, nor does he want to be a "hero" to show off, he has always had a "heart disease" that has not been fulfilled, that is, to let at least one son become a soldier, and the son will inherit his father's business and defend the territory of the motherland.

At that time, Li Guangcai, the youngest son of Li Yuan, graduated from junior high school and signed up for the army under the guidance of his father, but due to the limited number of places to serve in the army, Li Guangcai failed to obtain the qualification for three consecutive years. In 1990, when Li Guangcai signed up for the army, he was brushed again, and Li Yu'an, who was 67 years old, was a little anxious. He thought about it and wanted to find an opportunity for his son to be a soldier, but it was too difficult in the local area, and finally he decided to try it out with the old army. After some inquiry, he learned that his old army, the 38th Army, was transferred to Baoding, Hebei Province in 1966, so he first came to Shijiazhuang, found his nephew who worked here, and accompanied by his nephew, went to Baoding to inquire about the situation of the old army. That's what happened at the beginning of this article. When Officer Xie reported Li Yuan'an's situation to the top, Li Miaosheng, director of the Military History Office, immediately came to the reception room, and after talking with Li Yu'an for a while, and talking about the process of the Korean War, Li Miaosheng had already concluded that Li Yu'an was not lying, and the old man in front of him was Li Yu'an mentioned in "Who is the cutest person". Because people who have no combat experience can't tell the battle process of Songgu Peak in such detail.

After that, according to the organizational process, Li Miaosheng organized relevant departments, and after careful inspection, the troops determined that this old man was Li Yu'an, the deputy squad leader of the 3rd Company on Songgu Peak. After verifying his identity, Li Miaosheng carefully inquired about Li Yu'an's current life and asked him if he had any difficulties that he needed help with. At this time, Li Yu'an was a little embarrassed to say his intention to find the old army this time, and Li Yu'an, who wanted his son to be a soldier, said, "If there is another way, I won't come to make trouble for the army." After deliberation, the leaders of the unit decided to admit Li Guangcai, the son of Li Yu'an, into the army according to special methods, and assigned him to the company where his father was before. Li Yu'an finally realized his wish.

The news that Li Miaosheng and Li Yu'an Li Yu'an were still alive immediately spread within the 38th Army. Immediately afterwards, Wei Wei, who wrote "Who is the cutest person", also knew the news. Knowing that the hero was still alive, Wei Wei was so excited that he couldn't sleep, and he immediately invited Li Yu'an to Beijing to meet. After listening to Li Yu'an talk about his life experience and his work experience over the years, Wei Wei said very happily: "I am really happy to learn that you are still alive. On the occasion of parting, Wei Wei gave Li Yuan a collection of his works, and wrote on the title page: "Present to Comrade Li Yuan, a glorious participant in the battle of Songgu Peak, you will always be the loveliest person." ”

Wei Wei also wrote a letter to Li Yu'an intimately to Li Yuan, asking Li Yu'an to take it back and hand it over to the local **, the letter explained Li Yu'an's identity, and hoped that the local ** could give this combat hero proper care. However, Li Yu'an did not hand over the letter to the local **, after his death, when the children were cleaning up the relics, they found the unopened letter, and only after opening it did they know the contents inside.

Wei Wei wrote a statement for Li Yu'anShortly after meeting Li Yu'an, Wei Wei wrote another article telling the story of the "living martyr" Li Yu'an. Later, the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee, the provincial government, and the provincial military region launched activities to learn from Li Yu'an throughout the province. Soon after Li Yu'an was publicly reported, Wei Wei also learned that another "martyr" Jing Yuzhuo was mentioned in "Who is the cutest person" Jing Yuzhuo was also alive. The Heilongjiang Provincial Military Region invited Wei Wei, Li Yuan, and Jing Yuzhuo to meet. After the meeting, Wei Wei learned from Jing Yuzhuo that there was another Hu Chuanjiu mentioned in the article who also survived, but Hu Chuanjiu had died of illness in 1985.

The stories of Li Yuan, Jing Yuzhuo and Hu Chuanjiu, the three "living martyrs", have been known by more people since then. However, about the three "living martyrs", there was a small episode after that. In 1992, Wei Wei heard that in Beijing's middle school Chinese textbooks, the names of Li Yu'an, Jing Yuzhuo and Hu Chuanjiu, three "living martyrs", were deleted from the text "Who is the Loveliest Person". Obviously, the Beijing Municipal Education Bureau should feel that these three surviving old heroes are not suitable to appear in the article again. But Wei Wei didn't think so, and he wrote a letter to the Education Bureau with some anger asking for the names of the three to be reinstated, and said, "This is their honor, how can they just delete it?"As for the fact that the three survived in the end, Wei Wei thought that a note could be added to the end of the text to explain the situation. The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Education quickly followed Wei Wei's suggestion and restored the names of the three "living martyrs" in the text, adding explanations at the end of the text.

In 1997, Li Yu'an died of illness at the age of 73. Before his death, he was also busy helping Xinglong Town raise funds to repair roads, and under his call, he finally raised millions of funds. But before the road was repaired, he left early. The local people still feel that he deserves the title of "the loveliest person"!
