What are the common sound absorbing materials in the acoustic decoration design of home video room?

In the last issue, we talked about the sound insulation of doors and windows and walls in the acoustic design of the audio-visual room, so in this issue, we will continue to talk about what are the common sound-absorbing materials in the decoration design and planning of home theaters

Before we begin, we would like to talk about why the audio-visual room should be treated with sound absorption:

Here we take an example:

Bonn Council Hall.

Speaking in the council chamber, the sound was constantly ** back by the extremely dense and smooth glass walls around it, forming a strong force.

The reverberation was so strong that even the speaker himself could not hear what he was saying.

Therefore, the same is true in the video room, usually in the room, the sound we hear is usually a superposition of direct sound and reflected sound, and the purpose of our sound absorption is to control the ratio and delay of direct sound and reflected sound, and through attraction, we can control the reverberation time (this has been seen in the previous notes and can be reviewed by yourself) in order to achieve a purpose that can provide sound clarity.

The more sound absorption the better, the more specific a use case to top, the reverberation time of the video room is usually 02-1.Between 2s, the specific function of the audio-visual room needs to be determined.

Usually professional studio reverberation time: 02-0.5s, hifi scene: 04-0.6, while karaoke is usually at 06 or more.

Common sound-absorbing materials: mainly divided into three kinds of soft sound-absorbing materials, open-cell resonance sound-absorbing materials, and thin plate sound-absorbing materials.

1: Soft sound-absorbing materials: sponge, fabric, glass fiber, sofa, polyester fiber.

Sound absorption characteristics: mainly absorb medium and high frequencies.

2: Open-cell resonance sound-absorbing materials: perforated plates, low-frequency traps.

Sound absorption characteristics: mainly absorb medium and low frequencies.

3: Thin plate sound-absorbing material: plate box cavity.

Sound absorption characteristics: mainly absorb medium and low frequencies, and the absorption frequency band is narrow.

Acoustic decoration materials, in the decoration process of the audio-visual room, most of the decoration materials can also be used as sound-absorbing materials.

For example: sofas, curtains, carpets, as well as professional acoustic materials, low-frequency traps.

Sound absorption effect experience:

It is recommended to use a variety of types of sound-absorbing materials, such as soft and hard combinations, thick and thin combinations, so that it is easy to obtain balanced sound-absorbing characteristics.

Rules of thumb for sound absorption.

1 4 strong sound-absorbing materials.

Each wall of the theater has an area of at least 1 4, a thickness of 10cm of soft strong sound-absorbing materials, and **K songs are decreasing.

2% Low Frequency Trap.

A bass trap with a depth of more than 30cm, the volume is equivalent to that of a room.

About 2% of the volume.

Anywhere. For the sound absorption of the theater, there are no special requirements for the placement.

May malfunction. Experience is limited by specific circumstances and sometimes fails.
