Currently, the Montana Grant Program only reimburses expenses after the entire ** process is completed. The new program will allow the Montana Medicaid program to pay dentists for each step of the often longer process, ensuring that dentists receive the appropriate amount during the process.

The new program proposes to remove the $750 cap on annual dental benefits. At the same time, the plan expands coverage for asymptomatic wisdom tooth extractions, allowing Medicaid to cover the cost of wisdom tooth extractions for members, regardless of pain severity.

Matt Ahern, interim director of Medicaid and long-term care, said, "The public comment period provides transparency and accountability to the decision-making process. We look forward to the active participation of community stakeholders in shaping the future of dentistry. ”
