On December 28, the 14,000 TEU container ship "COSCO SHIPPING Argentina" built by Yangzhou COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. departed from Shanghai and sailed to Jeju Island, South Korea, officially starting sea trials. Different from the past, this time the trial is no longer accompanied by the traditional conventional kitchen, but by the State Grid Yangzhou Power Supply Company designed and manufactured by the all-electric cooking bin, this is the first time that China's all-electric kitchen will be "moved" to the ship for sea trials.

On December 15, 2023, the all-electric cooking warehouse was transferred to the container ship site.

After the trial voyage and put into operation, COSCO SHIPPING Argentina mainly serves the Far East to South America route. "From the completion of construction to the official commissioning of container ships, there will be a trial period, and more than 100 people will participate in the operation and commissioning of equipment in all aspects of the ship. Zhang Qiang, a member of the General Affairs Section of the Department of Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, introduced that during normal shipping, there are generally only 20-30 people on board, and during the trial voyage, there are about 180 people.

The original galley on the ship could only accommodate more than 20 people, which was simply not enough during the sea trial. Therefore, we will bring 5 tanks of liquefied gas on board to set up a temporary kitchen in the container to meet everyone's dining needs during the sea trial. Zhang Qiang said that the use of liquefied gas for open fire cooking in small containers, coupled with the need to store or replace liquefied gas regularly, has certain safety risks.

After the State Grid Yangzhou Power Supply Company learned of this situation, after negotiating with Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, the two sides decided to jointly build a mobile "all-electric cooking warehouse". The "all-electric cooking bin" is designed according to the standard container size, and a full set of all-electric kitchen equipment is customized inside, and the cooking bin box only needs to be directly hoisted onto the ship and connected to the ship's water and electricity system for convenient use.

This movable "all-electric cooking bin" is equipped with all-electric kitchenware such as induction cauldron stove, induction frying stove, steamed rice box, oven, electric fryer, electric baking pan, etc., which can meet the needs of Chinese and Western food processing without open flame cooking, and can provide meals for 200 people on time when operating at full capacity, fully meeting the dining needs of container ships during sea trials.

On December 18, 2023, the 14,000 TEU container ship "COSCO SHIPPING Argentina" departed from Jiangdu and sailed to Shanghai.

In addition to quickly improving the ability to eat, the safety and environmental protection of the 'all-electric cooking bin' are also guaranteed. Hang Hao, an employee of State Grid Yangzhou Power Supply Company, introduced that the façade of the "all-electric cooking bin" box is encapsulated with rusty steel plates, lined with A-class fireproof materials, and the ground is paved with new synthetic resin, which can achieve waterproof, anti-corrosion, anti-skid and A-class fireproof effects as a whole. At the same time, the concept of waterless kitchen is adopted, and all wastewater is discharged into the bilge wastewater treatment device through the pipeline for unified treatment, which is more low-carbon and green.
