On the morning of December 21, the Gansu Provincial Red Cross Society dispatched the Gansu Mingrui Psychological Assistance Red Cross Volunteer Service Team to carry out group psychological counseling activities at the temporary resettlement site of the Red Cross Society in Kexinmin Village, Dahejia Town, Jishishan County.

The psychological assistance team conducted psychological assessments for the victims in batches, with priority given to psychological counseling for adolescents and children. The GFS team organized 26 children together to play interactive games in a group to lead the children to face disasters and difficulties positively. During the activity, it was found that some middle school students had post-traumatic stress disorder, and they would tremble unconsciously, be silent, and refuse to communicate when they heard relevant words. In this regard, it was decided to take the form of one-on-one interviews for psychological counseling.

Crisis intervention is an important part of the post-disaster soft guarantee, and if timely guidance is not given, it will affect the psychological and even physical health of the affected people in the later stage, and affect the growth of young people. Ji Chunhui, a psychological counselor and leader of the rescue team, believes that psychological services should be carried out in a timely manner in the early post-disaster period, and suggests that under the premise of ensuring their lives, psychological services should be provided for the people in the disaster area as much as possible, and venues and spaces should be provided for psychological services.
