China Education News (Reporter Shi Jiansong) Is drama education just for students to perform programs?When drama elements are effectively integrated into subject teaching, what changes occur in students' learning ?......A few days ago, the first academic annual meeting of the Drama Education Professional Committee of the Beijing Education Society was held in the Central Primary School of Tanying Manchu and Mongolian Township, Miyun District, with the theme of "Drama Education to Promote the High-quality Development of Schools", focusing on the practical research of drama education to promote school management, curriculum construction, team training, etc., the principals and teachers of the member schools of the special committee carried out in-depth exchanges and explored a variety of new forms of drama education to promote the reform of basic education.

Founded in July 2021, the Drama Education Committee of the Beijing Education Society is committed to exploring original experiences in drama education that are suitable for China's local characteristics. At present, the member schools of the special committee have covered 15 urban districts.

At the event, 10 teachers from member schools of the special committee presented 10 research lessons to the participants, which are the results of teachers' integration of drama education with Chinese, English, mathematics, science and other subjects.

In the process of daily Chinese learning, many works are far away from students' real life, which makes it difficult for students to understand and appreciate the connotation of the articles. Chen Xiaojiao, a teacher at the Central Primary School of Tanying Manchu and Mongolian Township, brought a lesson of "Motherly Love". The text is the work of writer Liang Xiaosheng. Chen Xiaojiao uses the method of creating scenes in drama education, using scene descriptions and details** to combine language elements and drama elements, which stimulates students' enthusiasm for independent exploration. Zuo Jing, a teacher at the Guangwai Branch of Beijing No. 2 Experimental Primary School, took the theme of "Exploring the Research on the Collaborative Education Strategy of Home-School-Society Collaboration with Drama Education as the Carrier", and found a new growth point of home-school collaboration due to drama.

Today's classroom displays, principals' forums, and teachers' salons showcase the rich results of the bold explorations and beneficial attempts made by the member schools of the Drama Education Committee. Liu Yanjun, chairman of the Drama Education Professional Committee of the Beijing Education Society and secretary of the Party branch of Beijing Guangming Primary School, introduced, "In 2024, the special committee will continue to focus on the proposition of the times that drama education promotes the high-quality development of schools, carry out a variety of discussion activities, carry out phased exchanges and sharing of achievements on the topics of the project, and set up a platform for more teachers to exchange and display through the first solicitation activities." ”
