According to Reuters on December 25, Palestinian health said that Israeli airstrikes during Christmas Eve on the 24th killed at least 78 people, which was one of the deadliest nights in the 11-week fighting between Israel and Hamas.

According to the report, the Israeli airstrikes began a few hours before midnight and lasted until Christmas on the 25th. Local residents and Palestinians** say Israel has intensified air strikes and ground shelling of Buraij in the central Gaza Strip.

At least 70 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Maighazzi in central Gaza, including many women and children, Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Kidra said.

The report also said the Israeli military said it was reviewing reports of the events in Maighazzi and was committed to minimizing harm to civilians.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society published images of the wounded being taken to hospitals. Israeli warplanes bombed the main roads in the central Gaza Strip, obstructing the passage of ambulances and emergency vehicles, the agency said.

Palestinian medical personnel said eight people were killed in another Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

The clergy reportedly canceled the celebration in Bethlehem. Bethlehem is an Israeli-occupied Palestinian West Bank city, and Jesus is traditionally believed to have been born in a stable in Bethlehem. (Compiled by Hu Xue).
