The electronic water pump is mainly used in the circulating cooling of power battery packs, drive motors and electric components of new energy vehicles, and often has to withstand a variety of harsh working conditions during use. The rotor of the water pump is one of the core components of the water pump, and its performance directly affects the working efficiency and service life of the entire water pump.
The water pump rotor is a project that we have cooperated with Bimoudi OEM, which adopts Napan's wear-resistant PPS material solution, and has been in stable mass production for more than two years. PPS plastic has excellent strength and wear resistance, and can withstand the centrifugal force and torque generated by the rotor when it rotates at high speed, ensuring the stable operation of the rotor.
However, in the early development process, some difficulties were also encountered, because the water pump rotor has very high requirements for materials, which must not only withstand high temperature, high strength, but also high wear resistance and high lubricity. The material solution we give is a very cost-effective special engineering plastic PPS plasticHowever, ordinary PPS materials face the problems of self-lubrication and carbon fiber content。After many formula adjustments and repeated tests and verifications of PPS, the R&D team of Napan has given the following solutions.
1. Self-lubrication:
By adding an appropriate amount of PTFE, Napan solves the problem of self-lubrication of the product under high-speed operation (PTFE will migrate to the surface to form a self-lubricating protective film at high speed).
2. Carbon fiber content:
Too low carbon fiber content (10% CF of an imported brand, 30% Napan) will lead to insufficient rigidity of the material, and in the case of long-term use, the amount of wear will be too large and the service life will be reduced.
In the end, the 30% carbon fiber reinforced PPS developed by Napan stood out from many imported PPS brands, and relied on its excellent material strength to "kill a bloody road", which was successfully applied to the pump rotor of Bimoudi, and achieved a batch of stable materials.
