Of course, behind the insistence, it is either "fame" or "profit". Most people will no longer participate in the evaluation when they reach the title of senior engineer (deputy high), after all, the difficulty of Zhenggao is relatively large, and the competition is more intense. For most state-owned enterprises and private enterprises, Zhenggao is also a name, and everyone will not care too much, and there are not many substantive benefits, such as promotion and salary increase. However, for some public institutions, senior professional titles can enjoy better treatment after retirement - retirement salary, which is why they are about to retire at the age of 60, participate in the evaluation 8 times, and still adhere to the reason and motivation.
1. The "wonderful" experience of personal high school participation
In 2014, he obtained the title of deputy senior engineer, and his normal participation in the evaluation was in 2019. Due to the end of 2014, he left the Grade A Comprehensive Design Institute of Central Enterprises and entered the new energy design institute of private enterprises, the motivation to participate in the evaluation was very small, and there was no corresponding preparation.

So, in 2021, I participated in the provincial engineering series senior engineer with the dean. The dean is a postdoctoral fellow at Tongji, who has co-authored a book related to photovoltaic project design, and has also participated in the compilation of several industry standards, plus project design awards and patents. Such a combination of conditions is basically determined.
I belong to most of the normal situations, the education is not high or low (master's degree), no monograph, no participation in the compilation of specifications, there are a number of registration certificates (second-level structural engineer + first-level constructor + first-level cost engineer + consultant, plus points), * and patents, but the number is average, it belongs to the type that meets the conditions, but is not very prominent. I guess most people belong to my situation, slightly better or slightly worse, the difference is not too big. Whether it is too much or not, it depends on the opponent and the intensity of the competition, and it also depends on the mood of the judges.

After finishing the geotechnical examination in June 2023, I thought that I could finally prepare the application materials for the senior professional title with peace of mind, and when I filled in the relevant content against the application materials in 2021, I found this big oolong. It's a pity that it's been two years later, and when I asked again, I said that it was the wrong stamp. For the parties, this explanation certainly does not satisfy and accept me. Although I also know in my heart that it is too impossible for the relevant departments to change the results for me, after all, it was too late to find out.
It is worth comforting myself that through these two years of hard work, we have successfully passed the professional qualification certificates of first-class registered structural engineer and registered civil engineer (geotechnical), and the intellectual property rights and award certificates have been supplemented. In 2023, I will participate in the evaluation again, and my competitiveness will be relatively improved.

The defense process is as follows:
On-site check-in. Enter the on-site conference room in advance and wait for the number to be called according to the defense number.
I arrived at the scene in the afternoon session, and I arrived at the scene according to the sign-in time, and waited for more than 2 hours before it was my turn. The waiting process is a bit long, plus a little nervous, the waiting is relatively difficult, and the longer you wait, the more nervous it becomes. There were staff members at the scene who used loudspeakers to call out, unable to close their eyes and recuperate, and did not dare to go far, for fear that some people did not come, and might call themselves in advance or not hear. Later, like other people waiting for the defense, I stood in the conference room and moved around to relieve my tension.

There are 3 questions on the answer sheet, you don't need to write a self-introduction, you can simply write some outlines for ** questions and performance questions, because there is only 3 minutes of answering time, you can't expand, there is not enough time, and writing an outline is just a hint for yourself when you speak on the spot.
The on-site person in charge of the vocational reform office said that the judges would not read the answer sheet, it was useless to write too much, and the defense process was answered orally, without PPT, and the time for self-introduction was only 6 minutes in total.
The topic is not difficult, the personal ** topic is a brief description of the main content of the representative work, and the performance topic is the representative power transmission and transformation projects done in recent years (list 4 items).
The questions in the defense are not very professional and in-depth, probably because the judges do not understand your major and are not experts in your field.

According to the smooth start of the defense on the answer sheet, a total of 6 minutes, the judges will not ask questions on the spot during the defense process, and answer the questions on the answer sheet, first introduce themselves, and then answer the representative ** questions, and finally the performance questions, and leave the venue after answering.
There is no opportunity to communicate with the judges during the whole process of defense, and the main comment says that after the start of the defense, you will be reminded that there is 1 minute left in 5 minutes, and the defense will be forced to end in 6 minutes. I should have answered in less than 5 minutes because I didn't wait for a 5-minute reminder.
3. Is it difficult to defend Zhenggao?
The senior engineer review is broadly divided into two categories:
Internal title of state-owned enterprises:
The chief engineer of a department of a comprehensive Grade A institute in Beijing, where my former employer, was in his 50s and passed the senior title review. One of my classmates works in MCC South, and in 2019, he got a senior title from a state-owned enterprise in the unit. Today's work unit, the vice president is from the Central South Survey Institute, and he is also a senior professional title in the internal evaluation of state-owned enterprises.
Provincial and Municipal Vocational Reform Office Evaluation Title:
After returning to a private enterprise in Wuhan, due to the need to declare the qualification of the unit, I learned that the title certificate of the internal evaluation of the state-owned enterprise cannot be checked online, but can only be found in the internal system of the state-owned enterprise. Consult the Wuhan Municipal Vocational Reform Office, prepare relevant materials (evaluation forms, red-headed documents), etc., and replace the certificate, that is, it has been replaced with a general title certificate that can be checked online (note: some provinces cannot be replaced).
Generally speaking, the competitive pressure of the evaluation of senior professional titles within state-owned enterprises is relatively small, and when the age is reached, the relevant qualifications and experience are in place, and they can basically get it smoothly, after all, this does not affect the promotion and salary increase, it is a name, and the pass rate is relatively high. In the provincial and municipal vocational reform offices, there are many people from all walks of life and the same profession who need to be faced, and there are many capable people, and the pass rate is relatively low.
I work in the Electric Power Design Institute, and the main professional directions are: building structure, electrical, transportation (road), and the number of participants in each major this year is roughly counted: 28 electrical, 156 civil structure, and more than 200 transportation. As can be seen from the above data, the number of electrical participants is the smallest;The number of participants in the civil structure is more than 5 times that of the electrical;The number of participants in the transportation evaluation is the largest, nearly 10 times that of the number of electrical personnel.
The more participants in the competition, the greater the competitive pressure, the more capable people, and if you want to pass, you need to have superior strength and luck.
Combined with my personal experience of two defenses and the defense experience of colleagues, the defense topic is not difficult, and it may be more of a form of need. Or let the reviewers meet with each other to see if the participants are consistent with the application materials, after all, some people's materials (such as representative works) are not their own, and they may be exposed in the defense.
The overall feeling is that the defense is not difficult, and the decisive factor that may really determine whether you pass or not should be your hardware strength, which is roughly divided into 3 categories:
