The Fangshan Juma River Basin, where flash floods occurred during the flood season this year, has now been revitalized. On December 14, despite the heavy snowfall, the black stork, a national first-class protected animal, still staged a "blind date meeting" as scheduled in previous years.

Team members from the Beijing Black Panther Wildlife Conservation Station have been monitoring black storks along the Juma River for more than 20 years. Station manager Li Li said that due to the expansion of the tidal flats of the Juma River due to flash floods during the flood season, the location of this year's black stork "blind date meeting" has also changed somewhat. Li Li said that the place where the "blind date conference" was held has not yet frozen, the water is flowing, and the black storks can find food more easily.

In the early morning of December 14, as soon as the sky was bright, the team members of the Beijing Black Panther Wildlife Conservation Station set up a hidden tent by the river and began to record the "blind date meeting" with their cameras. The black stork, which has just grown into adulthood, has a bright red beak, long legs, and eye spots that are particularly eye-catching......About 20 birds soon gathered on the riverside, and the team members observed that there were several "parents" among them, who were catching loaches in the river a little farther away, and looked up from time to time to see the children's performance at the "blind date meeting".

After the "blind date" is successful, the young black storks will prepare to build a nest and will not be able to build a new home until the end of March next year. Eggs are laid in May, and at the end of the month, the baby black storks can break out of their shells. Wait until July and August, when the next generation of black storks can spread their wings and leave the nest. Li Li said that because of the weather, the road on the bank of the Juma River is slippery, and the public is advised not to go to Shidu to photograph the black stork, "There are also some black storks in the Niukouyu Reservoir in Fangshan, which is closer to the city and the road is easier to walk." "Monitoring data shows that there are currently more than 30 black storks in the Fangshan Juma River Basin.
