Affected by multiple rounds of cold wave weather, moderate to heavy snow has occurred in many places in China, and even blizzard or heavy snowfall weather has occurred locally. Not only are temperatures in many places in the north close to the lowest extremes in the same period in history, but the central and eastern regions will also experience strong cold waves, resulting in a significant increase in power and heating demand in many places. Whether the people can stay warm through the winter, energy is the key. In order to gain an in-depth understanding of the actual situation of energy supply, CCTV reporters from the main station followed the West-East Coal Transportation Channel all the way, starting from the Shendong mining area in Ordos, and now have arrived at China's largest coal launching port - Huanghua Port in Cangzhou, Hebei Province. It is an important hub port for the transportation of coal from the west to the east and the coal from the north to the south, and from then on, the coal will be transported south by water. CCTV reporter Zhang Congjing: This is the Huanghua Port wharf, and the coal we brought all the way from Ordos is now being loaded onto a power plant in Jiangsu. The staff told me that this ship can carry more than 50,000 tons of coal for five trains and can generate more than 100 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. There are currently 13 ships in the dock that are loading coal like this, and more than 40 ships waiting to be loaded at anchorage. Huanghua Port has a total of 17 coal berths, with an annual coal throughput of more than 200 million tons and a maximum coal storage capacity of about 4.6 million tons. It is a modern comprehensive energy port with coal, bulk cargo and oil products as the mainstay. Up to now, the annual coal production volume of Huanghua Port has been completed by 20.4 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 24%, ranking first among coal ports in the country for 5 consecutive years. CCTV reporter Zhang Congjing: After nearly 20 hours of operation, the ship is about to be filled with coal. The wind here at the dock is also very strong, and it hurts to blow on the face. I found out here that from unloading coal to loading on ships, I was still dealing with low temperatures, wind and snow. We cleaned the frozen coal 24 hours a day, checked whether the equipment was frozen and cracked, and whether the coal belt was slipped. Nearly 3,000 people at the port are in relay, all trying to get the coal faster, faster. According to the plan, the ship will be able to reach its destination in 2 days at sea.
CCTV reporter Zhang Congjing: Hello captain, are we going to sail this ship?Freighter Captain Gu Jianhua: Yes, there are still ten minutes to go, and this time the sea conditions are not very good, because of the impact of the cold wave. There will be strong winds and waves at sea, and now the coal from the north to the south is urgent, so we have to transport the coal to thousands of households as soon as possible. This time, the land transportation of the thousand-mile supply route is water transportation, and the coal used to ensure power supply and heating has also started a new journey to the south.
