Bachelor's degree, junior college students postpone graduation, and now the gap is huge, and life is in trouble!

Determination to pursue ideals.

In the early nineties, I was admitted to secondary school with a group of classmates. Our middle school is in a small town, and the quality of teaching is far inferior to that of secondary schools in the county and city. At the time, there were 49 students in our class, and I was the best of all the exams. According to the results of the college entrance examination in previous years, the teachers**I should be able to reach the undergraduate admission line. The results of the college entrance examination coincided with the teacher's **, and only five people in our class entered the admission queue, of which only I was admitted to the undergraduate program, and the other four people could only be admitted to the junior college. However, I was only 10 points away from the undergraduate admission line. After receiving the admission letter, my heart was full of unwillingness. Despite my parents' persuasion, I decided to study for another year and try to get into my dream school next year.

Extension: I aspire to earn a degree more than other students, and I am well aware of my talents and potential. Therefore, I chose a different path and followed my dreams. Despite the advice and criticism given to me by the people around me, I never wavered. For me, being a graduate is not just a difference in name, but more importantly being able to receive a higher level of education and open up a broader future. I am convinced that only through a higher level of study and further education can we continuously improve our ability and competitiveness.

Efforts to meet the challenges.

Compared to the four students who received the college admission letter, they entered the university campus in September, and I entered the secondary school review class in September. After a year of hard work, I was finally admitted to the university and realized my dream of going on to higher education. Two years after my colleagues graduated from high school and were seconded to work in a municipal agency, I also successfully completed my university studies. However, due to the impact of the international financial crisis, it was difficult to find a job, and I had to return to my hometown to wait for a settlement.

Extension: The year I spent in my high school review class was full of challenges and stress. In order to get into my dream university, I needed to relearn my high school skills and improve my grades. It took a lot of effort and sacrifice to achieve this goal. I studied late in the library every day, discussed problems with teachers, and did a lot of practical exercises. Although I was only a few minutes away from the repetition line, I was not discouraged and firmly believed that hard work would always pay off. Eventually, my hard work paid off, and I was accepted into a university. This process made me understand that as long as I have faith in my heart and work hard, I will definitely be able to achieve my dreams.

Different life path choices.

When I graduated, the international financial crisis had just passed, and the number of recruiters who came to the school was very limited. I had to go back to my hometown to wait for the placement, which was a little different from the situation of my four classmates. As a result of the abolition of program allocations by the state, all graduates have to go to the market to find jobs. My parents couldn't help complaining about me, thinking that if I chose a junior college, I could become a county-level cadre with status and prestige. I regret that I have not been able to find a job. Because family conditions did not allow me to stay at home all the time, I had to go south to find my own employment opportunities, like many other college students. The process was fraught with setbacks and obstacles, but I persevered and put in the effort.

Extension: After returning to China, I really felt the pressure of work and the fierce competition. I realized that a diploma is not just a piece of paper, but needs to prove one's worth through continuous hard work and practice. In the process of looking for a job, I encountered countless failures and setbacks. In the face of fierce market competition, my bachelor's degree did not give me much advantage. However, I did not give up, and I firmly believe that as long as I put in the effort and strive to improve my professional knowledge and skills, I will definitely find a job that satisfies me.

Compare different life trajectories.

A few years later, I worked as a people manager for a company. Although this position did not allow me to buy a house and settle in the city where I live now, I still stuck to my goal. Their development is more prominent compared to the four colleagues who received offers of admission to their majors. Some of them have already held leadership positions in the city and are in key positions. The other two colleagues, although not in senior positions in the city, are deputy chiefs in the county and have their own properties in the provincial capital. All this made me feel deeply ashamed and regretful, and it also made me reflect more on the path I have traveled.

Extension: I often imagine how my life would be different from my four classmates. They have higher positions and statuses, and enjoy better treatment and living conditions. I, on the other hand, am just an ordinary wage earner, and my monthly salary is only enough to make ends meet. However, I am not discouraged because I realize that everyone's life path is different. Everyone has their own opportunities and choices, and what we have to do is to give full play to our strengths and face life positively.

Fate and personal reflection.

This summer, I went back to my hometown to transfer my children. When I returned to my hometown this time, I unexpectedly met four of my classmates who had been admitted to higher education. They have grown beyond my imagination. One of them is already a principal in the city, and the others, although only vice principals in the county, have their own properties in the county and provincial capitals. Talking to them touched me and made me reflect more on my choices. I realized that the gap between me and them would grow wider, and it might be even more pronounced after retirement. However, I don't regret my choice, because everything is arranged by fate. No matter how bumpy the road ahead is, I will continue to pursue my dreams without regrets.

Outreach: The contact with these four students has strengthened my life choices. Seeing their success and achievements, I did not feel envy and despair, on the contrary, I felt proud and blessed for them. Everyone has their own trajectory and choices in life, so the success and happiness we pursue are not the same. I firmly believe that as long as we stick to our ideals and work hard for them, we will definitely find our own happiness and success. Fate can arrange different starting points and paths, but the final destination is up to us.
