For more than two decades, Chinese society has been seeking justice and answers to a series of heinous crimes related to Lo Rongzhi and his co-co-perpetrator Fa Ziying, whose death sentence has been executed. This crime, which spanned several provinces, has now fallen under the iron curtain of the law. After a rigorous trial, the Supreme People's Court finally ruled that Lao Rongzhi was sentenced to death, and he was executed in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province on December 18, 2023.

The ruling officially drew to a close to a years-long legal battle. According to court documents, between 1996 and 1999, Lo and his co-offender, Fa Ziying, planned and carried out a series of criminal activities, including robberies, kidnappings and brutal murder of innocent people. In cities such as Nanchang, Wenzhou, Changzhou and Hefei, the two of them joined forces to commit crimes, resulting in at least seven deaths.

One of the most egregious crimes was that Lo Rongzhi lured a victim, Mr. Xiong, to a hidden place and then tried him with Fa Ziying, what he called "dismemberment and murder". Immediately afterward, the criminals even went so far as to invade Mr. Xiong's home and kill his wife and two-year-old daughter in an attempt to eliminate all possible eyewitnesses.

The other two cases also prove the cruelty of Lo Rongzhi's crimes. In Wenzhou, she and her co-conspirators forced one victim to lead another into a trap and eventually killed two people to cover their eyes. In Hefei, she was involved in kidnapping, imprisonment and the death of one of her victims.

The Supreme People's Court examined all the details of the case in detail, including the premeditation, planning, and execution of Lo Rongzhi and Fa Ziying. There is several pieces of evidence that Lo played a central role in this series of crimes. The court finally found that the crimes committed by Lo Rongzhi included intentional homicide, robbery, and kidnapping, and that the crimes were heinous and cruel.

Before the execution, Lo had the opportunity to meet with her relatives and apologized to the victim's family. Under the presence and supervision of the supervisory organs, the Nanchang Intermediate People's Court carried out the judicial procedures for the execution of the death penalty.

The handling of this case highlights the intolerance of the Chinese judicial system towards serious crimes, as well as the determination of the law to pursue justice for victims and their families. The final judgment of Lo Rongzhi is a firm upholding of the rule of law and a manifestation of deep sympathy for the unfortunate family.
