The Tonghe area, located in the north of Guangzhou Avenue, will start the upgrade project to make use of the high-quality medical service resources in the area to create a healing and healthy community group at the foot of Baiyun Mountain. The plaza opposite Nanfang Hospital will be transformed into a gateway plaza for people to stop and consume, and the vicinity of the two adjacent subway stations will also be upgraded to improve the urban interface. At present, the general contracting (EPC) of the survey, design and construction of the contiguous reconstruction project in the Tonghe area is open for bidding.
There are three major problems with the current situation.
Access to medical treatment is congested, the urban interface is chaotic, and the community function is not good.
Tonghe area is located at the eastern foot of Baiyun Mountain, and the scope of this renovation is about 5630 hectares, north to Tonghe Road, south to Yixin Road, Guangzhou Avenue north through through, with Tonghe, Jingxi Southern Hospital two subway stations, the area gathered Nanfang Hospital, 157 Hospital and other tertiary hospitals, adjacent to Baiyun Mountain, Songyuan Hotel, is an important interface of the main urban area north and south. The population in the area is relatively young, with more than 70% of the population aged 20-50. There are 6 old residential areas in the area, all of which were built in the 90s of the 20th century, and 5 of them need to be upgraded.
According to the renovation implementation plan, there are three core problems in the area: congestion of medical access, chaotic urban interface, and poor community function.
Due to the lack of temporary stops on the roadside of Nanfang Hospital, a large number of vehicles can only pick up and drop off passengers on the main road, causing traffic congestion. The existing trail system and urban interface have problems such as narrow pedestrian space, weak landscape, few leisure facilities, and lack of barrier-free facilities, and the walking experience is poor. The exterior walls of the residential buildings are dirty and peeling off, the air conditioning units, anti-theft nets, and three-line layouts are chaotic, and the public facilities are insufficient.
Renovation of human settlements.
Two stations, two points" to create a healing and healthy community group.
According to the feasibility study report of the project, the biggest feature of the area is that the medical resources are prominent, so the renovation will position the area as a healing and healthy community group, providing more convenient and efficient support services for the medical industry. The renovation project includes the improvement of the living environment outside the old community and the comprehensive transformation of the old community, and the part of the living environment includes "two stations and two points".
The "two stations" are Jingxi Nanfang Hospital Station and Tonghe Station of the Metro. According to the feasibility study report and implementation plan, the awning should be canceled at Exit C of Jingxi South Hospital Station.
Temporary sheds and fences will be demolished at Exit C of Tonghe Station, a corridor will be added to facilitate passenger flow control, and the non-motorized vehicle parking space at the air outlet will be replaced with the space of the square behind the station, so as to reduce the chaos of the urban interface caused by non-motorized vehicle parking, and use the corner space to design a leisure green space. Exit D will also add an entrance corridor, expand the square in front of the station, add a new parking area for non-motorized vehicles, and after the adjustment, the subway entrance waiting area may be changed from the side facing the road to the side facing the road.
"Two points" include the traffic jam of Sun City Plaza and Tongtai Road. Sunshine City Plaza is located opposite the Southern Hospital and is connected by a flyover. The renovation will be built into a gateway plaza for the area, with a new sunken center stage, step seats designed in combination with barrier-free ramps, and green plants such as flowering trees added on the periphery to create a shaded rest space and an artistic ramp. The venue is planned to add an outdoor commercial space to provide a variety of consumption experiences for the public. The reconstruction of Tongtai Road adopts the scheme of Guangzhou Avenue rapid system transformation, and a two-lane four-lane cross-line bridge is added.
Renovation of old neighborhoods.
Make effective use of idle green space to open up the last mile home.
The comprehensive renovation of the old community focuses on making up for shortcomings, involving Yunhai Garden, Yundong Community, Fuhe Garden, Chunlan Garden, and Meiyuan Community, a total of 127 hectares. After the survey, residents' willingness to transform and upgrade mainly includes: effective use of idle green space, solving road congestion and parking difficulties, increasing leisure space, improving public services and convenient facilities, and creating a healthy community.
The salient feature of the old residential areas in this area is that they all have core concentrated green spaces, which are renovated to enhance their landscape and upgrade their functions. For the gray space and idle land in the community, the function is supplemented and implanted. For example, the Meiyuan community will carry out an area of more than 2,000 square meters to improve the quality of greenery - the largest among the five communities, renovate the damaged children's playground, and revitalize 180 square meters of idle single buildings.
The renovation puts forward the concept of "the last mile home", with safety, smoothness and aesthetics as the standard, improves and optimizes the walking experience from public transportation stations along the line to community branch roads and community roads, improves the continuity of sidewalks, and regulates the parking of motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles. Chunlan Garden, the largest in area, has improved the road quality by 6,450 square meters, newly set up 200 square meters of non-motorized vehicle parking spaces, and set up 1,100 square meters of ground parking spaces.
