2021 is the year of the 140th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Lu Xun, a famous Chinese writer and thinker, and the 100th anniversary of the publication of Lu Xun's famous work "Hometown". Although a hundred years have passed in a hurry, people still find that Lu Xun's words have not only not faded with the changes of the times, but have been integrated by netizens into "Lu Xun's classic quotations", which have been widely circulated on the Internet.

But compared with the shining brilliance of his ancestor Lu Xun, his descendants have experienced a bumpy and tortuous journey. Zhou Haiying, the son of Lu Xun, who lives under the "halo of celebrities", has been cautious all his life, in his words, "being a man with his tail between his legs", and has always been shrouded in the halo of "Lu Xun's descendants", and has failed to live his own life and personality;Compared with his father, Zhou Lingfei's situation is luckier, in addition to having the same "one-word beard" as Lu Xun, his colorful and deviant life experience in the first half of his life, but after all, he has the same path as his father, and he has a striking similarity to his grandfather Mr. Lu Xun in terms of shape and meaning.

Zhou Lingfei was born in Beijing in 1953, and at this time, Mr. Lu Xun had been dead for 17 years. Although he has never met his grandfather, Zhou Lingfei and his grandmother Xu Guangping spent 15 years of their childhood in Beijing. As Lu Xun's eldest grandson, Zhou Lingfei is very loved by his grandmother Xu GuangpingEven the name "Ling Fei" was taken by Xu GuangpingThis name used to be one of the pen names used by Lu Xun during his lifetime.

According to the situation imagined by ordinary people, Zhou Lingfei's life in childhood should be very happy, but when he became an adult, Zhou Lingfei laughed at himself in the words of the famous Japanese writer Natsume Soseki's grandson Natsume Fangnosuke:

"He (Natsume Bonosuke) once said that as the eldest grandson of Natsume Soseki, I lived in fear all my life. At first I was surprised to hear this, but then I realized that it was not too much to describe my own childhood life as 'fear'. ”

When he was a child, Zhou Lingfei didn't care who his grandfather was, and no one mentioned to him who Lu Xun was. When he went to Jingshan Xi in Beijing, he finally found that his grandfather Lu Xun had appeared in the first class of primary school texts when he was about five or six years old. At that time, Zhou Lingfei was still very happy, but the subsequent development of events was far beyond his expectations.

Gradually, he became the center of attention in the school, whenever Lu Xun's texts were mentioned, the teachers in the school always hoped that Zhou Lingfei would stand up as an example and tell everyone about his grandfather's thoughts and views on writing this article, and often encouraged him: "Since you are Lu Xun's grandson, Lu Xun is a very great person, you have to be a good example, especially the composition must be well written, so that you can be like Lu Xun's grandson." ”

Later, the classmates simply didn't even call Zhou Lingfei's name, and directly called him "Lu Xun's grandson", this halo-like name made Zhou Lingfei feel uncomfortable after hearing too much, like a thorn in his back. After going to college, once a classmate was playing bridge in the dormitory, he watched the game from the side, just because he inserted a few words, and as a result, the classmates spread falsehood, and it became "Lu Xun's grandson is not good at studying and Xi, and he is addicted to playing cards." Later, the secretary of the Youth League Committee of the school also talked to him because of this matter and asked him to pay attention to the influence of Lu Xun's descendants. Obviously it is a very ordinary hobby, ordinary people can have it, but as a "grandson of Lu Xun", it is indeed an incredible thing.

In order to escape from this aura that is the same as the "Tight Spell", Zhou Lingfei as a teenager thought about it and came up with a way: join the army. When you get to the army, no one will know you, right? With such an idea, Zhou Lingfei enrolled in a juvenile art school of the People's Liberation Army when he graduated from primary school without the consent of the adults in his family. When the army came to the school in 1968 to recruit soldiers, he happily filled out the registration form for joining the army and handed it to the military representative in charge of review.

As a result, the military representative looked at ** and questioned on the spot:"Can Lu Xun's descendants endure hardship?I don't think you can do it. Besides, your age ......”

In order to get out of the "sea of suffering" of the school as soon as possible and join the People's Liberation Army, Zhou Lingfei began to grind hard and soak hard, he often swept around in front of the military representatives with a broom, and every time it was time to eat, he took out two nests mixed with cornmeal and ran to the military representatives to eat, and finally got the consent of the military representatives. After Zhou Lingfei joined the army, he left Beijing by train and came to Shenyang. What he didn't expect was that he still couldn't get rid of the identity of "Lu Xun's grandson" in the army.

Picture: Zhou Lingfei told the past at the scene of the program "Thank You, My Home".

Just after arriving at the unit to report, the company commander in charge of recruit training specially called Zhou Lingfei over and said:"Mr. Lu Xun has an unfinished business waiting for you to complete. ”Originally, the company commander planned to let him study medicine and serve as a health officer in the army, but this proposal was strongly opposed by Zhou Lingfei, and he insisted on going to the front line to protect his family and defend the country.

Zhou Lingfei was very happy when he arrived in the army, he had developed excellent military skills in the army, got along well with the soldiers around him, and also joined the Communist Youth League. However, the aura of "Lu Xun's grandson" is still always remembered by his superiors, and Zhou Lingfei feels both embarrassed and funny.

Once, the platoon commander of the guard platoon found Zhou Lingfei and told him:"Since you are Lu Xun's grandson, it must be very good to write articles, and now there are a lot of good people and good deeds in our platoon, so you can act as a correspondent of our platoon and help write a few reports." ”This incident made Zhou Lingfei feel very embarrassed: "How can I have such a writing style!."”

But the platoon commander didn't give up, and came over at three o'clock in the evening to wake up Zhou Lingfei and urge him: "You can write it quickly, there will be a manuscript on it tomorrow." ”

Picture: Phoenix Satellite TV interviewed the production of the program, and the host He Dong talked to Zhou Haiying, Zhou Lingfei and his son.

I won't. Zhou Lingfei said with a red face.

The platoon commander thought he was modest, so he picked up a cigarette, then handed it to him and said, "Mr. Lu Xun can write good articles by smoking, and you will have to learn it in the future." ”

Zhou Lingfei really couldn't refuse, but he learned to smoke in the army at the age of seventeen, and he smoked for twenty-five years. In this way, it was not until early in the morning that Zhou Lingfei reluctantly squeezed out a manuscript, and later the platoon commander took it and revised it again before publishing.

Afterward. Zhou Lingfei was transferred to the Propaganda Section as a propaganda cadre, and one day, he found that the Propaganda Section had an old-fashioned camera, and his eyes lit up, and he hurriedly took this camera to the section chief and reported:"Chief of the reporting section, I learned photography with my father when I was a child, and photography can also be used for reporting. ”In this way, Zhou Lingfei became a professional photographer in the army, and later won the photography award of the army. Although his hobby of photography temporarily freed him from his depression, it was still the same in the army, and when he went to **, others called him "Lu Xun's grandson", and the feeling of not being able to live like himself was really uncomfortable for Zhou Lingfei.

In 1979, the country opened up to study abroad, and Zhou Lingfei thought to himself that if he went abroad, no one would know that he was Lu Xun's grandson, and he would be able to live his own life. Zhou Lingfei, who learned the news, immediately contacted a friend and registered with a school in Tokyo, Japan. After some twists and turns, the relevant departments finally agreed to Zhou Lingfei to study abroad in the way of "public assignment and self-funding".

During his study in Japan, Zhou Lingfei finally felt that he was alive and like himself, he could joke with others at will, play pranks, and have normal hobbies in life, without worrying about his identity as "Lu Xun's grandson". While studying in Japan, Zhou Lingfei met a female classmate Zhang Chunhua from Taiwan, and the two soon fell in love. Zhang Chunhua's father owns a large department store in Taipei, although the family is wealthy, but he does not have the arrogant temperament of a rich girl at all.

However, just when the two sides wanted to get in touch further, this love was met with great resistance: the Taiwan authorities told Zhang Chunhua's parents that Zhou Lingfei was the grandson of Lu Xun, whom "Chairman Chiang" hated the most, and this love was naturally blocked by Zhang Chunhua's parentsOn the other hand, Zhou Lingfei's superiors and relevant departments also began to notice this matter, at that time, when it was still a very sensitive period, the relevant departments had considered forcibly terminating Zhou Lingfei's Xi study plan in Japan, and Zhou Lingfei was already aware of this situationSo he made the most daring decision in his life - to fly directly with Zhang Chunhua from Japan to Taiwan, so that "lovers will eventually become married".

Pictured: Zhou Lingfei and Zhang Chunhua held a wedding.

On a Sunday afternoon in 1982, Zhou Lingfei's father Zhou Haiying received an international call from his daughter Zhou Ning from Tokyo**, where Zhou Ning said some things about Zhou Lingfei in a hurried tone, and its power was tantamount to detonating an "atomic bomb" in the ears of Zhou Haiying and his wife.

It turned out that Zhou Ning had just learned from Japan's Tokyo TV that his eldest brother Zhou Lingfei had decided to go to Hong Kong to get married with Zhang Chunhua, and after getting off the plane through Taipei on the way, he made several statements on the news of the interview, claiming that he came to Taiwan only because of love and had nothing to do with his parents. This thunderbolt on a sunny day made Zhou Haiying and his wife suddenly feel sad forever, and they suddenly aged a lot.

Afterward. Zhou Haiying described his complicated feelings at that time in his memoirs of "Seventy Years with Lu Xun and Me":

"Taipei, what kind of place is that, can you go to that place? You went there, how can you be worthy of the cultivation of the party and the country, and how can you be worthy of the grandmother and parents who love you, you are Lu Xun's grandson!”

Due to the impact of this incident, the work of Zhou Haiying and his wife Ma Xinyun has been greatly affected, and their lives have fallen into trouble for a while. But Zhou Haiying didn't blame his son, he just hoped that after Zhou Haiying went to Taiwan, he would never do anything sorry for the party and the country.

But Zhou Lingfei, who came to Taipei, had an unsatisfactory life. At the beginning, he worked in the department store opened by his father-in-law's family, but soon after, Zhang Chunhua's father suffered a great impact on his business because of this incident, and finally went bankrupt, and as a result, Zhou Lingfei and Zhang Chunhua's lives were very embarrassing. Later, the husband and wife bought a popcorn machine, specializing in selling the finished popcorn to the vendors, and some ** authors in Taiwan learned that Lu Xun's grandson actually fried popcorn on the streets of Taipei to live, so it was a hot stir-fry, but fortunately, the couple finally survived that difficult thing, and the business gradually improved.

In 1999, Zhou Lingfei traveled thousands of miles to Shanghai in order to collect the debt of a cultural planning company in Taiwan. At that time, Zhou Lingfei's father Zhou Haiying was running around in order to protect Lu Xun's name, copyright, and portrait rights, and was incomprehensible to many people, so Zhou Lingfei decided to stay in the mainland to help his father defend his rights.

Picture: Zhou Lingfei was smiling in front of Lu Xun**.

At that time, there were many ** and units on the grounds that "Lu Xun is the country", a large number of abuse of Lu Xun's **, words and name, Zhou Haiying did not want to see Lu Xun's image being used commercially, he has always been low-key, in order to protect Lu Xun's rights, fought many lawsuits.

Because people's awareness of rights protection was not high at this time, Zhou Haiying's practice at that time was blinded by many people around him, and what he said in private behind his back was even more ugly, what "Lu Xun's son is not filial", "Lu Xun's descendants like money", and even some of his leaders and friends have found him and persuaded him:"Lu Xun is so great, as a descendant of Lu Xun, you should not mention money or power. ”But these words couldn't shake Zhou Haiying's determination.

In this regard, Zhou Lingfei has deep feelings: "My father didn't go to court for money, he was principled, because we have legal rights." Relying on his previous experience, Zhou Lingfei decided to help Zhou Haiying fight the lawsuit, he first suggested not to use his personal name to fight the lawsuit, to set up an institution and organization, and use the institution and organization to carry out the work, it should be much smoother. In March 2002, with the help of Zhou Lingfei, Shanghai Lu Xun Cultural Development Center was established.

It was at this time that his affairs on the mainland were dealt with, and theoretically speaking, he would return to Taiwan after finishing his work, where his wife and children were still waiting for him. But at this critical moment, Zhou Lingfei began to hesitate, because he had not finished the lawsuit for his father, and his father's expectant eyes often appeared in front of him. In the end, Zhou Lingfei decided to stay, the main reason was to make up for the debt to his parents for more than ten years.

According to Zhou Lingfei's later recollection: "During that time, my father Zhou Haiying always told me that Lu Xun's spirit must always be inherited. Now the two younger brothers and one younger sister in the family are not engaged in literary and artistic work, and I am the only one who is engaged in communication, so after all the calculations, I feel that the last important task should fall on me. ”

Now that the Cultural Development Center has been established, in addition to rights protection, Zhou Haiying and Zhou Lingfei, father and son, should also take practical actions and achievements to spread Lu Xun culture. But they also know very well in their hearts that in recent decades, research articles about Lu Xun have been overwhelming everywhere, and if they publish the results hastily as a family member, they will inevitably attract ridicule from others.

In order to find Lu Xun's footprints, since 2002, Zhou Lingfei has been visiting Lu Xun's hometown, memorial halls and schools, collecting first-hand information while listening to local primary and secondary school teachers and scholars talk about Lu Xun. Later, Zhou Lingfei gradually discovered that in the past few decades of communication, Lu Xun's image has been over-conscious, and many of his real emotions and daily life have been removed, leaving only the image of battle, such Lu Xun is not the real Lu Xun in daily life.

So, the father and son sorted out the existing information at hand, and after repeated scrutiny, they finally launched a book called "Who is Lu Xun" in 2006. As expected, in the half year since the book came out, almost no one spoke out, but later, some heavyweight scholars began to affirm the research value of Zhou Haiying and his son by analyzing the details in the book, and in September, a large number of ** reporters finally flocked to Zhou Lingfei, and Zhou Lingfei felt that he had made a good start for inheriting the spirit of Lu Xun. Since then, Zhou Lingfei has been working hard and has successively launched two books, "What is Lu Xun's Surname" and "Let Lu Xun Go Home", discussing issues related to Lu Xun from the perspective of family, inheritance and family return.

Although in public, he likes to talk about Lu Xun endlessly, but in private, he once admitted to the reporter he interviewed: "Before 2000, I actually knew very little about my grandfather Lu Xun, and when I helped my father, I just wanted to compensate my father." But later, when I was combing through the information, I finally began to get close to Lu Xun and took the initiative to devote myself to it. ”

In 2012, the Lu Xun Cultural Association was formally established, and Zhou Lingfei served as the president and secretary general. Before dying in 2011, Zhou Haiying once said to Zhou Lingfei:"No matter how big your career is, you must pass on the spirit of your grandfather Lu Xun, he is not only the glory of our Zhou family, but also the pride of the Chinese nation!”With his father's will, Zhou Lingfei resolutely carried this banner, for him, the mission of the first meeting is: to unite all the forces in the society that can be united, to protect Lu Xun's former residence, Lu Xun Memorial Hall and other cultural relics, so that future generations can continue to understand the literary achievements of this great writer.

Among the deeds of his grandfather Lu Xun, there is a deed that impressed Zhou Lingfei: in 1927, the Swede Sven Hedin once planned to nominate Lu Xun as the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, but was flatly rejected by Lu Xun, who claimed that no Chinese writer at that time deserved the Nobel Prize"The Nobel Prize, Liang Qi is supernatural and unworthy, and I am not worthy, to take this money, I still need to work hard. ”(Lu Xun replied to the letter of student Tai Jingnong).

In this regard, Zhou Lingfei commented on his grandfather Lu Xun: "Lu Xun's works were influential in more than 50 countries and regions at that time, and were translated into more than 70 languages, and his influence was one of the few in Asia. His attitude of not chasing fame and fortune and seeking truth from facts is worthy of learning from and Xi admiring our descendants. ”

Pictured: Lu Xun on the streets of Shanghai.

For the precious spirit of his grandfather Lu Xun, Zhou Lingfei has his own independent thinking and opinions, in general, there are four main points: First, the core idea of Lu Xun's spirit is "people-oriented";The second is the ability to think independently, which is the vision and mind of Lu Xun's spiritThe third is the "take-it-or-leave-it-ism", in which Lu Xun absorbed the excellent things of Chinese and foreign cultures, and then used them to do his own thingsFourth, it is the "tenacity" of doing things, he can stick to what he wants to do, and finally succeed.

Previously, when he failed to understand his grandfather, Zhou Lingfei reminded himself all the time that he was a descendant of Lu Xun, and he must be cautious in doing things, otherwise his parents would be implicated; But now, he can better understand why Lu Xun didn't let his father Zhou Haiying inherit his unfinished business, because Lu Xun knows very well in his heart that he is himself, his child is a child, he has his own independent personality, and he should do what he wants to do. And now, being a "Lu Xun volunteer" in his lifetime is Zhou Lingfei's greatest wish, spreading Lu Xun's culture and spirit, whether it is for the country or the people, is the most practical thing.
