Yu Peng, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in São Paulo, said in his speech at the meeting that São Paulo is the largest city and transportation hub in South America, and the task of consular protection is arduous and arduous. To do a good job in consular protection and assistance, it is necessary to reflect differentiation and continuously improve the accuracy of assistance. Consular protection in the new era not only provides protection and assistance for Chinese citizens and enterprises whose legitimate rights and interests have been infringed, but also provides a safer travel experience for Chinese tourists, strives for better educational conditions for Chinese students, creates a friendlier business environment for Chinese enterprises and businessmen, and sends warmer greetings to Chinese compatriots.
Tian Yuzhen, deputy consul general of the People's Republic of China in São Paulo, said that since the beginning of this year, the Consulate General has repeatedly gone to Chinese-funded institutions, Confucius Institutes and areas where Chinese merchants are concentrated on 25th Street to carry out safety inspections and discussions. At present, the Chinese training course for the military and police in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has begun. The CDAC and the associations have provided a more powerful guarantee for safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of overseas Chinese.
It is known that there are nearly 260,000 overseas Chinese living in the consular district of the Chinese Consulate General in São Paulo, nearly 200 Chinese-funded institutions investing in São Paulo, and more than 5,000 Chinese citizens visiting São Paulo for a short period of time every year.
