On December 15-16, 2023, the "16th International Accreditation Seminar on Helping Business School Development" hosted by Shanghai Bibi Research Institute and co-organized by the School of Management of Northwestern Polytechnical University was successfully held in Northwestern Polytechnical University. On December 15th, Professor Li Tianxing gave a special session on "AACSB Certification Course AOL Major Difficulties and Solutions". He interpreted and refined the requirements of Standard 4 in detail from the perspective of official tutors, combined with cases, and triggered thinking, so that teachers have a more comprehensive understanding of AACSB standards. When it comes to standard AOL process, how to adopt diversified assessment tools, how to design and implement rubric, how to motivate faculty to fully engaged in the AOL process, Professor Li gave guidance and shared experience, citing the practice of Fu Jen University in Taiwan to analyze it. At the same time, he mentioned that the important spirit of AACSB is continuous improvement, so the continuous improvement and optimization of AOL procedures is also necessary.
On the second day of the conference, Professor Shen shared the theme of "Internationalization of Business School". Professor Shen has long been committed to the field of teaching internationalization and international business certification, and he believes that internationalization is the main theme of the development and competition of excellent business schools in China. He shared the value of international accreditation of business schools and the relevant experience of EQUIS international accreditation, and mentioned the five themes of Deakin University's internationalization strategy, including rebuilding a diverse international student program, a globally connected education model, and encouraging graduates to think globally.
Mr. Du shared the certification experience of the School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Based on the situation of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University has been on the road of internationalization since 1980, and has started the internationalization journey of management education with the China-Canada Education Cooperation Project. Starting from the international accreditation of the Business School of International Business and Economics, Director Qin introduced the accreditation of the University of International Business and Economics, analyzed the similarities and differences of the three international accreditations, and comprehensively explained their key points and difficulties, certification time, funding and results, and the differences between standards. She focused on the preparation beyond the report, both in terms of time frame and material framework. In terms of time frame, the college needs to consider the timing of the interlocutor's simulation, which can improve responsiveness. In terms of material framework, it is necessary to prepare various materials in advance, such as e-books, cloud storage databases, etc. In addition, it is necessary to prepare strategic documents, such as human resources, financial information, and meeting minutes. During the certification process, it is necessary to prepare institutional documents and strategic documents in Chinese, as well as materials translated into English. Finally, for meeting minutes, it is advisable to keep them on file when organizing meetings on a daily basis so that they can be accessed at any time during the certification site visit.
Director Chi shared the application of digitalization in the international accreditation of universities, mainly talking about how to use digitalization to help schools carry out international accreditation. At present, the Bibi international certification management system can support the three major international certifications, AACSB international certification in the AOL and teacher classification is difficult, how to formulate in line with the college's teacher classification standards, the four types of teachers (SA, PA, SP, IP) type boundaries are not clear and other problems can be solved with the help of the Bibi international certification management system. On the premise of ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data, improve the certification efficiency of business colleges, reduce the workload for the staff involved in the certification, and solve the scientific management of a large number of materials in batches and efficiently. At the same time, digitizing and visualizing data to realize intelligent management and standardize the teaching process is the only way to improve teaching quality and promote curriculum teaching reform.
