Summer transfer madness!Tottenham want to sign Nice defender Younas Todibo for 35 million

Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Nice defender Jean-Claire Todibo to sign him. The acclaimed 23-year-old has been linked with an interest in a Premier League side, while Tottenham are now in contention with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea. Due to injuries and uncertainty over the contract situation, Tottenham need to strengthen their defence at the moment.

While summer arrival Micky van der Ven initially impressed, he is currently unavailable due to injury, leaving manager Ange Postecoglou with only three options. Eric Dier has lost his place in the squad during his time in charge of Postecoglou and his contract expires in June 2024. Todibo, who is valued at £35 million, is understood to be one of Tottenham's main targets.

Representatives of the players held talks with the club last week to find out their interest in the transfer. Todibo spent almost three years at Nice and became an integral part of the team, excelling at both ends of the pitch, making 117 appearances and contributing to the team's solid defence. In addition to Todibo, Tottenham are also reportedly looking at other centre-back options, including Sebastien Cáceres, Jarrad Branswaite, Mark Gihi and Lloyd Kelly. Postecoglou intends to bolster his squad with at least three signings in January, targeting a midfielder, a striker and a centre-back.
