Barcelona winger Raphinha could join Manchester United, and Sancho became a bargaining chip

Barcelona accept winger Raphinha in the upcoming January transfer window. The Brazilian joined the Catalan club from Leeds United for £55 million plus add-on in the summer of 2022. Raphinha's first season at Barcelona was very successful, winning La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. He made 36 starts and 14 substitute appearances in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists.

However, this season, the 26-year-old struggled to replicate that performance and was unable to secure a regular starting spot. He started just nine of his 16 appearances, scoring two goals and providing six assists. Barcelona manager Frank Chawi has a preference for 16-year-old Lamine Yamal on the right flank, while other players such as Ferran Torres and Joao Felix have also played alongside Robert Lewandowski in attack. Although Raphinha's contract runs until 2027, his future at the Camp Nou seems uncertain.

There have been reports that Barcelona are willing to consider the winger, with several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, reportedly interested in him. In fact, Manchester United are said to have offered to trade Jaden Sancho, the much-received winger, in exchange. Sancho has not featured for Manchester United since September due to a conflict with manager Erik ten Hag. Another possible place for Raphinha could be Saudi Arabia, with representatives of the Middle Eastern club reportedly having contacted Barcelona to discuss the player's availability. Although Raphinha says he is happy at Barcelona and wants to fight for his place, the possibility of him leaving the club after less than two years seems to exist.
