Pep Guardiola: The king who competes for the most trophies!

Mondo Sports Updated on 2024-01-31

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is the coach with the most trophies in football history. The legendary Scottish coach has won an incredible 49 titles in his nearly four decades career. Ferguson began his coaching career with East Sterling, Chassel and St Mirren, before achieving notable success with Aberdeen, including three domestic titles, the European Cup Winners' Cup and the Super Cup.

However, current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is slowly closing in on Ferguson's record. Pep Guardiola has already won 37 trophies in his coaching career, with his most recent victory coming at the FIFA Club World Cup, where Manchester City beat Fluminense 4-0 in the final. The victory marks City's fifth trophy of 2023, including last season's historic treble.

In addition to Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola, other coaches who have won a large number of trophies include Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. Jose Mourinho has won 26 titles so far, most recently winning the Europa League in Roma in 2022. Ancelotti, on the other hand, has 24 trophies to his name, and he has enjoyed success at several clubs such as AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Overall, Ferguson's record of 49 trophies is unrivalled, but Pep Guardiola is gradually closing the gap and will be hoping to challenge that record in the future.
