On December 16, Li Bin, CEO of Weilai, posted that he would personally go out and work with Huang Chenxia, general manager of Tencent News Operations, to drive the NIO ET7 equipped with a "150-kilowatt-hour electric semi-solid-state battery pack" from Shanghai at half past six in the morning on December 17 in a live broadcast manner
They set off from Shanghai and traveled to Fujian to test NIO's "150-degree battery pack" and challenge themselves to drive a distance of 1,000 kilometers. The challenge was completed at 7:43 p.m. The data release is shown in the figure
It is understood that the weight of this "150kWh battery pack" is only 20kg more than that of the "100kWh battery pack", and the energy density is 360Wh kg, far exceeding other mainstream lithium batteries on the market.
Released at NIO Day 2021, NIO's 150kWh battery pack (150kWh battery pack) uses a solid-liquid hybrid electrolyte, silicon-carbon composite anode material, and ultra-high nickel cathode material, with a single battery pack weight of 575kg and an energy density of 360Wh kg, surpassing CATL's Kirin battery (255Wh kg). Although the battery pack has a larger capacity, it is the same size as NIO's 100kWh and 75kWh battery packs, and it can still support battery swapping. However, the cost of the battery pack is reported to be close to that of a NIO ET5.
In the live broadcast, Li Bin also said that the NIO 150-degree battery pack is the most technologically advanced in the world's mass-produced battery pack, and the announcement and test of the model have been completed, and the ramp-up stage has begun in the near future, and it will be delivered to users in the near future.
In the monthly data of power batteries released this week, the loading performance of Weilan New Energy has attracted the attention of the industry: in November 2023, the company will achieve about 041GWh, 001GWh increased by 4000%, ranking 12th among domestic power battery companies and 7th in ternary power battery companies.
Since the products currently delivered by Weilan New Energy are semi-solid-state batteries, and the company is the main battery manufacturer in China to realize the batch loading of semi-solid-state batteries, the company's latest loading data also means that the loading scale of domestic semi-solid-state batteries has exceeded 400MWh for the first time, and the industrial application has been greatly accelerated for the first time.
In June this year, Weilan New Energy's 360Wh kg semi-solid-state battery was officially delivered to NIOBy November, the company had shipped a total of 044gwh。Combined with the information previously disclosed by NIO that it is "equipped with a 150kWh semi-solid-state battery pack", Weilan semi-solid-state batteries have been installed in more than 2,900 vehicles.
However, at this stage, it is still far from the commercialization of solid-state batteries, mainly due to the fact that mainstream electric vehicles are first interested in cost (especially domestic), and the manufacturing cost of solid-state batteries is highThe production process and equipment also need to be further improved and optimized;Long-term stability and durability still need to be further verified;Ecological issues such as batteries** and reuse are not perfect. In addition, consumer acceptance of new energy vehicles needs to be improved, which will also affect the development of solid-state batteries.
The mainstream of the industry believes that the window period for large-scale mass production and application of all-solid-state batteries is between 2025 and 2030, and the next 10 years will be a key opportunity period for the research and development of all-solid-state batteries.
