In June 2022, the National Energy Administration issued the "25 Key Requirements for Preventing Power Production Accidents (2022 Edition) (Draft for Comments)", proposing that ternary lithium batteries and sodium-sulfur batteries shall not be used for medium and large electrochemical energy storage power stations. In August of the same year, nine departments including the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology respectively issued the "Implementation Plan for Science and Technology to Support Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality (2022-2030)" and "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Energy Electronics Industry (Draft for Comments)", all of which put forward requirements for the development of safe and economical new energy storage batteries.

Catalyzed by a series of policies, the vanadium battery industry has ushered in a period of large-scale development opportunities.

In the future, under the influence of various factors such as the continuous investment of first-class subsidies, the mature development of the industrial chain and the cost reduction of scale effect, the all-vanadium flow battery will transition from policy-oriented to market-oriented with its excellent characteristics, and its penetration rate will gradually increase. The research institute EVTark released the "Development of China's Vanadium Battery Industry in 2022", and it is expected that the new scale of vanadium batteries will reach 2 in 20253GW, the new increment will reach 45GW, the cumulative installed capacity of vanadium battery energy storage projects will reach 24GW, and the new market size will reach 40.5 billion yuan that year.
