In recent days, the Philippines has behaved unusually aggressively, launching a series of tough actions against our country in the South China Sea!
As of December 9, the Philippines tried to forcibly intrude into China's Scarborough Shoal under the cover of three official vessels, but fortunately, China's coast guard acted quickly to intercept and drive them away. The Philippine side claimed that the operation was aimed at providing assistance to poor Filipino fishermen on more than 30 fishing boats, including free fuel and Christmas food packs. However, when they approached Scarborough Shoal 2 miles, they were stopped directly by the Chinese coast guard and used water cannons at least eight times. Chinese personnel set up a floating barrier at the entrance to the reef and dispatched speedboats to drive away Filipino fishermen who were waiting for fuel and food supplies to be distributed. In response, the Philippine side said that this practice is very inhumane.
The Philippine side has unfounded complaints, and they are completely distorting the facts. First of all, Scarborough Shoal is China's territory, and as early as the period of China-Philippines friendship and cooperation, we generously allowed Filipino fishermen to fish here, which shows China's goodwill. However, the Philippine Aquatic Resources Agency chose to carry out the so-called distribution of humanitarian relief materials in the shallow waters of Scarborough Shoal, which is a deliberate provocation to try to realize the illegal occupation of China's Scarborough Shoal by "distributing humanitarian supplies" in business class on Scarborough Shoal.
The Scarborough Shoal incident has not yet subsided, but the Philippines has created another incident at Second Thomas Shoal. On December 10, two Philippine coast guard vessels, an official ship and a supply vessel illegally intruded into the waters near Ren'ai Jiao in China's Nansha Islands, and China's coast guard controlled them in accordance with the law. In the process of evacuation, our coast guard ship used water cannons. However, the Philippine ship "Yunaza May" ignored the warnings of the Chinese coast guard and deliberately engaged in a brutal collision with our 21556 ship, resulting in the occurrence of the scraping incident, which is obviously the responsibility of the Philippine side. This time, our coast guard performed very well, decisively using water cannons to suppress the Philippine vessel, and there was even a scene where two Chinese coast guard ships used water cannons to "flank" a Philippine official ship at the same time. The two water jets rushed straight away, and the Philippine military and police hid in the cabin one after another, not daring to come out at all. According to the power of China's water cannons, if the attack continues, it is estimated that the Philippine official ship of several hundred tons will not last more than five minutes before it will sink due to excessive flooding.
In the end, however, the Chinese coast guard exercised restraint and let the other side go after a brief warning shot. Even so, almost all of the radar and communications equipment on Philippine official ships have been scrapped. The Philippines is now adopting an attitude of frontal confrontation, with marginal rhetoric, trying to obtain some benefits through a series of small actions, and also trying to make China pay the price in terms of "breaking wealth and eliminating disasters", such as providing the Philippines with donated materials and funds again. However, in reality, this annoying little action of the Philippines does us no good. This time, we not only restricted their fishing vessels, but also decisively imposed tough restrictions on Philippine official vessels and coast guard vessels. The facts of the South China Sea have proven time and again that for the Philippines, no amount of benevolence and morality will help, just like playing the harp to a cow. Perhaps, the only language that can make the Philippines understand is a tough attitude and strength.
The Philippine side mistakenly believes that with the support of the United States, it can wantonly provoke in the South China Sea. In fact, this is a miscalculation of the situation by the Philippines, who have failed to see the reality clearly. At present, the United States is in a difficult situation at home and abroad, and it is difficult for it to sustain itself. A Russia-Ukraine war has almost put the United States and its allies in deep trouble; At a time when the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is escalating, the United States has no choice but to lower its posture at the meeting in San Francisco and ask China to exercise restraint.
