Precautions for the installation of the slurry pump inlet pipe

When the slurry pump uses a valve to adjust the flow, the regulating valve should be located at the outlet of the pump, and it is not allowed to adjust it with a valve on the inlet pipeline to avoid cavitation. The layout of the inlet pipeline of the slurry pump should generally pay attention to the following points:

1. First of all, the layout of the slurry pump inlet pipeline should not be too long, the length should be controlled within 10 meters, more than 10 meters will affect the required flow of the pump, if the liquid level is lower than the pump, there will be no water sucking up the phenomenon, other accessories of the slurry pump inlet pipeline such as the elbow valve should be reduced to a minimum, in order to reduce the flow rate and suction loss of the inlet pipeline.

2. If there is a bend in the inlet pipeline of the slurry pump, there should be no less than 4 times the length of the straight pipeline between the bend and the pump, otherwise the efficiency of the slurry pump will decrease and the flow rate will not reach.

3. If the inlet pipe of the pump and the inlet diameter of the pump are not the same, they should be connected to each other with eccentric reducers, otherwise it is easy to accumulate gas on the pipeline to form air bags.

4. If the water level is lower than that of the pump, when installing the slurry pump inlet pipeline, the place from the pool to the pump should be laid in a slope shape from bottom to top, so as to avoid gas accumulation at the top of the pipe, which is not easy to be carried away by the water flow and affects the normal operation of the pump.

5. When the water level is higher than the slurry pump, a gate valve should be installed on the inlet pipeline, so that the water flow can be easily cut off when the pump is overhauled. When installing the gate valve, it is better to use a horizontal installation, which can avoid the accumulation of air on the top of the valve body.
