Commentary on the Ten Heavenly Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches 3 .

Why is there a person who has Yin Mao, and who is divided into yin and yang heaven and earth with A and B. A and B divide yin and yang, then A is yang, B is yin, and the wood is in the sky and is yin and yang. Yin and Yang are Yin and Yang, Yin is Yang, Mao is Yin, and the wood is Yin and Yang. With A, B, Yin, and Yin, and Yin, then A, B, and Yin are yin, and the wood is formed in the sky and formed on the ground. A and B walk in the sky, and Yin Mao receives it;Yin Mao exists, and A and B are giving. Therefore, A and B are like officials, and Yin Mao is like a place. Jialu is in Yin, and Yilu is in Mao, such as the government officials are in the county, the county officials are in the city, and the order of each department in January is also.

Cui Jiuxiao's Commentary:After the solar calendar and the lunar calendar came into being, due to some confusion in terms of specific timing, the ancients began to try to unify the two calendars very early.

For example, it is written in the Book of Songs:

"The moon is said to be Bi in Jia, orange is said in B, Xiu is said in C, Yu is said in Ding, Li is said in Wu, Ze is said in Ji, suffocation is said in Geng, Xin is said to be stopped, and it is said to be the end in Ren, and it is said to be extremely in Gui. Moonlight. ”

The idea is obviously to unify the moon's cycle of change into the solar calendar, and to take into account the changing properties of time and energy (i.e., yin and yang).

But later it was found that it was still inappropriate, because the moon is full more than 12 times in 365 days, so the lunisolar calendar takes 365 days as a year, and the moon takes a cycle of yin and yang changes as a month (29-30 days), in order to make the one-year cycle of the sun coincide with the one-year cycle of the moon, it adopts the method of intercalation, and finally forms a luni-solar calendar.

Then A, B, C, and D were named the Ten Heavenly Stems, which were used to describe the changes of the five elements of sunlight and heatThe name of Zichou Yinmao is not only to refer to the order of the months of the twelve months, but also to describe the corresponding five elements of the earth (with Henan in Shaanxi as the central point) after carrying the sun's light and heat.

According to the nature of yin and yang, the sun is the source of light and heat, and it is yang and sky. The earth is the bearer of light and heat, the yin and the earth.

The ancients used the structure of the tree as a metaphor, the sky is the stem, and the earth is the branch, so it is called "ten heavenly stems and twelve earthly branches", and the word "branch" is the meaning of "side branches of the tree".

The essence of the solar calendar is the relative motion relationship between the sun and the earth, because the sun has always been luminous and hot as a source of light and heat, so the light and heat energy perceived on the earth has a relative change, that is, the climate of the four times of the year.

At the shadow measurement point on the earth, the sun shadow is the longest on this day, the earth is still unusually cold, cold is the convergence of energy, but after this day the sun will get closer and closer (the shadow will be shorter and shorter), then according to the cathode to yang, anode to yin (yang to yin death, yin to yang death), the sky is yang, the earth is yin, this point on the earth is the cathode state, that is, the yin, so at this time the five elements on the earth are water, the ancients called this day "winter solstice", this month is "sub-month".

The change of the sun is relatively the yang stage, and the state of yang beginning to grow is less yang, and the five lines are wood, so the solar calendar regards this as the first season of a cycle, that is, "A".

When the sun is "A", the earth is the "son", so the two sets of timing system are integrated and unified, which is the first stem branch "Jiazi", whether the heavenly stem or the earth branch, a very important role, and even the most important role at the beginning is timing, the earth branch is twelve, it is more convenient to count the month, and the heavenly stem of the ten seasons is gradually used to count the day (day), and the unified stem branch should also be used for this purpose.

Therefore, "Jiazi" is used to count the day, it must be from the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar (that is, the first day of the first month of November), so that the 30th day of January (of course, it is later divided into large and small months and added intercalary), to the fifteenth time when the moon is full (corresponding to the yin and yang cycle of the moon), the 30th is divided into three days, the first, middle and lower months, each day stem is equipped with an earthly branch, and the time is one day, so the earliest records of the stem branch are more (the oracle bone inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty have many divination words on the days of the stem branch).

The non-repeated combination of the stem branch is 60 pairs, so a round of stem branch can last for 60 days.

Once the principle of the Ganzhi day is determined, it can be used to count the month, the first Jiazi day must be the sub-month, the child is yin, and the corresponding yang is Jia (the beginning of the month is also the moment when the yang is born and the yin dies), then the beginning of the first month is "Jiazi month".

It is inferred that the year must also be the "Jiazi year" as the first year (of course, this premise is that the ancients took the winter month as the first year, that is, the winter solstice was the rule of the first day of the new year, and after the Han Dynasty, the first day of the first month of the first month of the first month was the first day of the new year, which made it impossible to have the Jiazi year and the Jiazi month).

Finally, when it comes to the hour, it must be the "Jiazi time" as the first time (only in this way can it be the most accurate moment of yang life and yin death, and the ancient time of yin and yang will be divided again, and it will be accurate to 12 o'clock in the middle of the night), which is a later story.

Okay, let's go back and look at the summary process of the solar calendar, which is to first determine a period of 365 days (365 to be exact).25, the ancients have been accurate to this), and then determine the longest and shortest shadow of the sun, which is the yin and yang dichotomy, for the winter solstice and summer solstice, and then determine the two moments when the sun shadow is as long, namely the spring equinox and the autumn equinox, which are the four elephants (four hours): winter solstice, spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox.

This 365-day cycle, as well as the range of yin and yang and the four elephants, are all manifestations of the earth after carrying the sun's energy, so it is referred to by the earth's branches.

Winter solstice, spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox, equinox 36525 days, each serving is 913125 days. The winter solstice is the pole of the Taiyin, and it is also the center point, the Taiyin is the five elements of water, and the first pole of the Taiyin is the first day of the first month of the first month, so the first day of the first month of the month must be 91One half of 3125, which is 4565625, let's count it as the 45th for the time beingThere are 6 days, and there are 12 months (earthly branches).

Then, 91 days is 3 months, and pushing forward 30 days on the first day of the first month of the first month is the first day of the first month of the new month, and then pushing forward 156 days, which is about the fifteenth day of the lunar month. Pushing back 30 days from the first day of the first month of the first month is the first day of the ugly month, and then pushing back by 156 days, about the fifteenth day of the first month.

Because a solar return year is 36525 days, while the full moon cycle is actually 295 days, so the number of full moons in a year is 12 to be exact38 times, so that the total number of days in the lunar year will be more than 10 days less than the solar calendar, so it is necessary to set a leap every few years in order to unify the timing of the lunisolar calendar, and in this case, the second year will be slightly later (for example, the winter solstice will be later than the previous year).

In this way, with Taiyin as the center to rule for three months, then the winter will stabilize in the Hai, Zi, and Chou months, and so on, with the spring being Yin, Mao, and Chenyue, the summer being Si, Wu, and Weiyue, and the autumn being Shen, You, and Xuyue.

In the four seasons, spring is the five elements of wood for the young yang, the sun is the five elements of fire in summer, the five elements of gold for the autumn of the young yin, and the five elements of water for the winter of the taiyin.

As we said earlier, because Ziyue Yin dies and Yang is born, and A is the Yang of Shaoyang, the first stem branch combination is "Jiazi", and now, we can correspond to the previous logic.

The ten heavenly stems are divided into yin and yang for the five elements, A and B are the same as the five elements of Shaoyang and wood, A is the yang of Shaoyang (Yang Mu), B is the Yin of Shaoyang (Yin Wood), corresponding to the five elements of the same nature of the earth branch, that is, the spring Shaoyang and the five elements of wood, that is, the Yin Mao (Chen) of the earth branch.

Why is there a person who has Yin Mao, and who is divided into yin and yang heaven and earth with A and B. There is a celestial stem based on the change of the sun, and there is also an earthly branch based on the change of the moon, the heavenly stem reflects the change of sunlight and heat, and the earthly branch reflects the change of the earth after carrying the sun's light and heat.

And because all things can be divided into the law of yin and yang, so the sky is yang, the earth is yin, A and B are the five elements of Tiangan wood, Yin Mao is the five elements of earth branch wood, heaven and earth as a whole, and the five elements of wood are Jia and B and Yin Mao.

A and B divide yin and yang, then A is yang, B is yin, and the wood is in the sky and is yin and yang. Yin and Yang are Yin and Yang, Yin is Yang, Mao is Yin, and the wood is Yin and Yang. With A and B as a whole, A is yang, B is yin, and A and B are the five elements of Tiangan wood, so the essence of A and B is the yin and yang dichotomy of the five elements of wood flowing in the sky.

With the Yin Mao on the earth as a whole, then Yin is yang, Mao is yin, and the earth carries the energy brought by the sun, so the essence of Yin Mao is the yin and yang dichotomy of the five elements of the earth and wood.

With A, B, Yin, and Yin, and Yin, then A, B, and Yin are yin, and the wood is formed in the sky and formed on the ground. If A and B and Yin Mao are taken as a whole, then A and B are yang, and Yin Mao is yin, and the difference is: A and B are the energy of the five elements of wood flowing in space, and Yin Mao is the manifestation of the nature of the earth after carrying the energy of the five elements of wood.

A and B walk in the sky, and Yin Mao receives it;Yin Mao exists, and A and B are giving. Therefore, A and B are like officials, and Yin Mao is like a place. The five elements of wood represented by A and B come from the outside, and the appearance after the earth bears is Yin Mao, so it is A and B to exert force, and Yin Mao to bear. The reason why Yin Mao has the nature of the five elements of wood is because of the effect of the five elements of the heavenly stem A and B wood.

Therefore, A and B are like a job title, and Yin Mao is like a job corresponding to a job title, the ancients used secular metaphors, A and B Tiangan are like an official position, and Yin Mao is the official government and jurisdiction, which is easier to understand.

Jialu is in Yin, and Yilu is in Mao, such as the government officials are in the county, the county officials are in the city, and the order of each department in January is also. "Lu" was originally the meaning of blessing, and later extended to ** Yulu (almost equivalent to the sum of the current salary + bonus + honorary title), which is the meaning of fame + profit.

For the relationship between the heavenly stem and the earthly branch, A is the yang of the five elements of wood in the sky, and Yin is the yang of the five elements of wood on the earth, so Yin is equivalent to the blessed land of A, that is, the energy of A will be manifested to the greatest extent in Yindi.

Therefore, in numerology, Yin is the land of the stars of A, and Mao is the land of the stars of B. Because an earthly branch represents a month, so in Yinyue, Yinmu's power is dominant, and Yinmu has the final say, so numerology terminology calls this identity "commander", and the time is one month, so it is also called "Yueling".

To be continued.
