Paper lanterns are a traditional Chinese handicraft that is loved for its exquisite design and unique charm. Below we will introduce a simple and practical paper lantern making method that will make you a beautiful paper lantern with ease.
Material: Scissors.
Glue. Colored paper.
Bamboo sticks or wire.
Light bulbs and wires.
Steps: Prepare the paper: Choose several colors of colored paper that will be used to make the various parts of the lantern. Cut the paper to the appropriate size, usually a square or rectangle.
To make a lantern frame: take two bamboo sticks or iron wires and cross them into a "ten" shape to serve as a bracket for lanterns. Secure the holder in the center of the paper, making sure that the holder is perpendicular to the paper.
To make the lantern bottom: take a larger piece of paper, roll it into a cone, and glue it together. Cut the top of the tapered shape to a flush edge as the base of the lantern.
To make the top of the lantern: take a smaller piece of paper, roll it into a cone, and glue it together again. Cut the top of the tapered shape to a flat edge to serve as the top of the lantern.
Assemble the lantern: Glue the bottom and top of the lantern to the bracket, making sure they are perpendicular to the bracket. Then, glue several other pieces of paper around the bottom and top to increase the thickness and aesthetics of the lantern.
Install the bulb and wires: Drill a small hole in the center of the top of the lantern and install the bulb and wires into it. Turn on the power and test whether the lantern is lit up.
Decorate the lantern: You can draw your favorite pattern or stick stickers on the surface of the lantern to increase the beauty of the lantern.
Once you're done making it, you'll be able to admire the paper lanterns you've made.
