The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force should not be taken lightly

In recent years, with Japan's continuous expansion of armaments, its military strength has become stronger and stronger, especially the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, with a total tonnage of more than 500,000 tons, has become the world's fourth largest naval power, second only to the United States, Russia, and China. However, with China's aircraft carriers, 0.55 million tons of destroyers and 075 amphibious assault ships put into service one after another, Japan is increasingly worried about the strength of China's navy.

Previously, some Japanese netizens commented on China's advanced 055 destroyers: "Even if the Type 055 is based on the United States and Japan, you can't underestimate them!."Some Japanese netizens commented: "The appearance is very handsome, but the displacement is not seen, the bigger the better!."There are even Japanese netizens who threatened: "The construction speed is so fast, it's just to make up for the quality with quantity!."”

Between the words, it seems that there is disdain for our country's 055 destroyer, but it is difficult to say whether this is really the case in my heart. Clear-eyed people know the strength of the 055 destroyer, but the Japanese are obviously still hard-mouthed, as if in the eyes of the Japanese, their sea ** ships are stronger than Chinese and Russian ships, but the ideal is very beautiful, and the reality is very skinny.

Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force is true, but it has fatal flaws. At present, the Sea of Japan has more than 150 surface ships, the main force of which is 7 quasi-aircraft carriers with a displacement of 20,000 tons, 8 Aegis destroyers, 33 missile destroyers of various types such as the Hatsuyuki-class and Akizuki-class with a displacement of more than 5,000 tons, and 22 conventional submarines with the world's advanced level.

If nuclear submarines are not taken into account, with the current strength of Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force, it is actually enough to wrestle with Britain, France, and Russia in the P5. However, Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force appears to be powerful, but it has a fatal flaw, that is, the range of its anti-ship missiles is greatly limited.

According to the provisions of the US-Japan Security Treaty, Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force is not allowed to possess long-range attacks**, which makes the range of Japan's anti-ship missiles have been limited to the scope of "self-defense", that is, it is only allowed to cover the 200 nautical miles stipulated in the Convention on the Law of the Sea (3704 km).

Although the range of such anti-ship missiles is longer than that of most naval countries, if compared with the naval powers of China, the United States, Russia, and even Britain, France, and India, the gap is a bit large. In particular, China's 0.55 million ton destroyers carry YJ-21 anti-ship missiles with a range of up to 1,500 kilometers, and the ultimate range is even as high as 2,000 kilometers. Under such circumstances, no matter how advanced the ships of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force are, they are only targets for powerful countries.

However, we must be vigilant against the fact that in recent years, with the acquiescence of the United States, Japan has frequently wanted to break the shackles of the US-Japan "Security Treaty" and increase the range of its ships' anti-ship missiles. Therefore, we still need to be vigilant against the Maritime Self-Defense Force at all times, and we must not take it lightly!
