#alloy725#
Alloy725 (UNS N07725) is an excellent nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy that boasts excellent corrosion resistance and can be age-hardened to achieve amazing strength. Similar to Alloy625, it also has excellent corrosion resistance, which has been widely used in a variety of highly corrosive environments. The strength of age-hardened alloy725 alloy can even reach twice that of alloy625 in the annealed state.
The strength of this alloy is enhanced by heat treatment without affecting its ductility and toughness. This means that even uneven cross-sections can achieve strong strength. The chemical composition of Alloy725 alloy is shown in Table 1, where the high content of nickel and chromium provides excellent corrosion resistance in both reducing and oxidizing environments. The large amount of molybdenum increases the resistance of the alloy to the reducing medium and further increases the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

In addition, the alloy's unique combination of elements gives it resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking. The properties of Alloy725 alloy make it suitable for a wide range of applications that require excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. It is resistant to hydrogen sulfide, chloride and carbon dioxide in acidic gas atmospheres such as hangers, lap joints, side pocket mandrels, and polished hole sockets. For high-strength fasteners in marine applications, alloy725 is also an ideal choice due to its resistance to corrosion, pitting and crevice erosion in seawater.
