On December 3, Beijing time, the Brooklyn Nets announced that the absence of Ben Simmons, the core of their team, would be extended for at least another two weeks.
The Nets said Simmons received an epidural injection to:"Helped his waist recover as a whole", his physical condition"It continues to improve"。In the 2023-24 season, he played in just six games for the Nets and hasn't played since Nov. 6. Simmons' tenure with the Nets has been hampered by injuries almost constantly, and he has played just 48 games for the team since joining the 2021-22 season. He missed the entire 2021-22 season with a back injury and played just 42 games in 2022-23 due to similar problems.
Heading into the season, he had been hyped up for claiming he was feeling fit, and it seemed like the return on investment in Brooklyn was finally starting to show. But now he seems to be having the same problem again, having missed 12 games.
He will also miss at least seven games, and the Nets will be hoping to still make a playoff run when he returns. Brooklyn currently has a 9-9 record and sits in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
