A few days ago, I went to the honor exhibition hall of Tangang Village Service Center for the People in Huji Street, High-tech Zone, where some farmhouse items are displayed, such as stone grinding, tilianger, copper stove, hookah, these are all daily necessities for farmers in our early days, a bamboo needlework basket, has been a little worn, emitting a dark red and black light, from the pulp of the utensils, it is full of traces of time. Even some of our old comrades who are over half a hundred years old can no longer accurately name this bamboo vessel. The exhibits even include a Yanwu brand cassette recorder, which was a rarity at that time, and it was not ordinary people who had this at home, almost equivalent to a modern family having a luxury car.
In the corner of the showroom lies a big black and edged guy, the whole body is cylindrical, the length is about one meter two three, the diameter of the core is less than twenty centimeters, there are five or six carved stone flutes throughout the body, the depth of the flute is five or six centimeters, this is the depth of daily use, the depth after the years of abrasion, the new should be deeper. What is this black guy who looks like a rook, thinner and longer than a rook?
Some people say that just like the mill, it is also used for threshing in the mill. Some people say that it may be used for pressing seeds in the ground, and when the wheat is planted, it is easier to germinate and emerge with this press. Some people say that this dongdong is not used in a mill, nor is it used on dry land, but is used exclusively in paddy fields, and I can't remember what it is called. Just when everyone was talking about it and was at a loss, Daniel Zhang, the youngest secretary of Tangang Village, called out the name of this black guy - grass.
With this, everyone's memories of this farm tool were all awakened.
Grass is a special tool used in paddy fields to press grass roots into the mud. After the wheat harvest, some wheat stubble and weeds will inevitably fall into the field after the plough has been plowed on the farmland. After the water is released, these wheat straws and weeds will float on the surface of the water, and if left untreated, they will affect the subsequent transplanting. Therefore, before planting the seedlings, the wheat straw and weeds floating on the water must be pressed into the mud, and at this time, it is the turn of the grass to be plowed.
There are two kinds of grass, one is stony, which is the one displayed here, there are stone eyes at both ends of the stone, and the wooden shaft is installed, and the rope is tied, and the ox pulls it around the ground, and the weeds and other things floating on it are basically pressed into it. When there are no cows, or when the cattle are too busy, people can pull them. There is also a kind of grass that is wooden, and a wooden board is inserted into a log so that it is exposed to become a wooden wheel, and when it rolls in the paddy field, the wooden board pulls the weeds into the mud. Cattle are also generally used as power.
The effectiveness of the grass is reflected in the name, and it is impossible to determine when and by whom this agricultural tool was invented. But this farm tool called grass is definitely the crystallization of the wisdom of our ancestors, and it has also accompanied the farmers in my hometown for hundreds of thousands of years. Until half a century ago, this agricultural tool was still effective.
Nowadays, with the acceleration of the pace of agricultural mechanization, the grass has no use, after the wheat harvest, a new type of tractor walks through the field, ploughing, crushing, fertilizing, leveling is completed at one time, and even the transplanting of rice does not need the farmer's back to burn the sun, facing the hot water to plant one by one.
Rural revitalization, the development of old areas, the farming life of modern farmers has undergone earth-shaking changes, and in the modernization of agriculture, new farmers will enjoy the same ease and happiness as factory production.
It's a pity that I didn't take a picture of the grass at that time. Brilliant Writing Challenge Headline Creation Challenge
