This passage in the Minutes of Reading History and Public Opinion describes the geographical location and strategic importance of Korea during the Warring States period.

Korea was located between the states of Qin and Wei and had a wealth of geographical defenses.

Both Zhang Yi and Fan Ju emphasized the strategic value of Qin's attack on Korea.

Original:The gateway of Han, Qin, and Wei is also;

Duyi": Jin Feng Han Wuzi in Hanyuan, Xuanzi migrated to Zhou, Zhenzi migrated to Pingyang, Jinghou migrated to Yang Zhai, and Waihou migrated to Xinzheng.

Warring States Policy: Su Qin said: There are Gong, Luo, and Chengzhen in the north of Han, Yiyang and Shanghan in the west, Wan, Sui, and Weishui in the east, and Shanshan in the south, and the place is thousands of miles. 」

Zhang Yi asked Qin Fa Han to say: Pro-Wei Shanchu, send troops to Sanchuan, plug the mouth of Zhenyuan and Xuanshi, cut off the way to stay in Tun, Wei Jue Nanyang, Chu Linnan Zheng, Qin attacked Xincheng and Yiyang, and approached the suburbs of Erzhou. 」

Translation:Korea was the gateway to the states of Qin and Wei. It is recorded in the Duyi Examination that the Jin State sealed Han Wuzi in Hanyuan, Han Xuanzi moved the capital to Juzhou, Han Zhenzi moved the capital to Pingyang, Han Jinghou moved the capital to Yangzhai, and Han Aihou moved the capital to Xinzheng.

In the book "Warring States Policy",Su Qin described the geographical location and topography of South Korea:In the north of Korea, there are the dangerous fortresses of Gong, Luo, and Chengzhen, the fortresses of Yiyang and Shanghan in the west, Wan, Sui, and Weishui in the east, and the mountains in the south, and the land is thousands of miles in circumference.

When Zhang Yi asked Qin to attack Korea, he said: Get close to Wei, be kind to Chu, send troops to attack Sanchuan, block the passage of Zhenyuan and Xuanshi, cut off the road to Tunliu, so that Wei cannot contact Nanyang, Chu cannot approach Nanzheng, and Qin attacks Xincheng and Yiyang to threaten the suburbs of Erzhou.

Original:Zhang Yi said that Han said: Qin Xiajia is based on Yiyang and cuts off the land above Han;Take Chengzhen and Xingyang in the east, then the palace of Hongtai and the garden of mulberry forest are not the king's own. If the husband is stuffed into a place, the kingdom of the king will be divided. 」

Fan Ju said to King Qin Zhao: Qin sent troops to attack Xingyang, and the way to success was not passable. The way to cut the north is not to go to the party. If Yiyang is attacked in one fell swoop, its country will be broken into three. 」

Su Dai about the king of Yan, Qin Zheng told Han said: I started from Shaoqu, one day and broke Taihang, I started from Yiyang and touched Pingyang, three days and all the same. I touched Zheng two weeks away, and the country moved five days. 」

Translation:Zhang Yi said to Korea: "The Qin State sent troops to occupy Yiyang and cut off the upper land of Korea; If you occupy Chengzhen and Xingyang in the east, then the palace of Hongtai and the garden of mulberry forest no longer belong to King Han. Once the blockade is formed and the land is cut off, the land of the king of Han will be divided. ”

Fan Ju said to King Qin Zhao: ".The state of Qin sent troops to attack Xingyang, then the road to Chengzhen would be cut off. If the road to Taihang Mountain is cut off to the north, then the forces of the Shangdang will not be able to come down. Once Yiyang is attacked, the territory of Korea will be divided into three parts.

Su Dai agreed with King Yan that Qin Guozheng told Korea: "I set out from Shaoqu, and I can cut off the road of Taihang Mountain in one day, and I set off from Yiyang and touch Pingyang, and there is nothing that cannot be captured in three days." I left for two weeks, touched Jeongkook, and in five days I could occupy Korea. ”

South Korea, located between the states of Qin and Wei, became a focal point of conflict between the two countries.

Geographical location is very important in *** and strategic planning.

In the modern world, we also need to recognize the impact of geographical location on economic development and foreign policy.

Zhang Yi, Fan Ju, and Su Dai all emphasized the strategic value of Qin's attack on Korea, but they did not mention the cost of the war, including human rights, property damage, and social unrest.

When we consider conflicts and wars, we must consider their costs and seek peaceful solutions.
