part01: The phenomenon of blue water.
Phenomenon: Users notice that tap water from the faucet sometimes appears blue for a short period of time and in different shades of color.
Reason: This phenomenon occurs because there is a toilet cleaner (blue) in the user's toilet tank.
In order to keep the sanitary ware clean, the user puts the toilet cleaner in the toilet tank, and the water tank will appear blue. Toilet cleaner is only used in the bathroom, so why does it get into the user's faucet?The reason lies in the toilet tank problem. Since the check valve of the water inlet pipe of the water tank does not work, under normal circumstances, under the action of the pressure of the pipe network, the flow direction of the water is positive, even if the water is not used, because there is pressure in the pipe, the external water will not enter the pipe. However, due to the water stop or the downstairs water, at the moment of opening the valve or faucet, due to the sudden change of water flow, a very small, instantaneous negative pressure is generated in the pipe upstairs that does not use water, and the instantaneous negative pressure will suck the water in the water tank into the pipe.
The magnitude of the negative pressure generated is related to the amount of water at the time of opening.
Processing: In this case, due to the small volume, it generally only affects the users of the same building.
As long as the blue water at the user's place is cleared, it can be solved. To solve the problem completely, it is necessary to improve the check valve of the toilet tank to prevent backflow from polluting the pipe network. Another effective way is to move the anti-splash hose out of the water surface of the tank, even if there is a transient negative pressure, so that the water in the tank will not be drawn into the pipe.
part02: White cloudiness.
Phenomenon: After the user boils the water, white precipitation, turbidity, white floating objects, scaling and other phenomena appear.
Reason: Hardness generally exists in natural water, and its main components are calcium and magnesium, which combine with bicarbonate present in water after heating to form a white precipitate of calcium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide that is insoluble in water. This is a normal phenomenon, any natural water, more or less hard, will produce white precipitates when heated.
The amount of precipitation is related to the hardness in the water.
Treatment: Patiently explain to the water user.
There is a certain hardness in natural water, it is normal to produce precipitation or scaling, the minerals in the water are necessary for the human body, hardness is a kind of minerals, and pure water is not scaling, but there are no minerals. The resulting precipitation has no health effects
Part03: Bloodworm phenomenon.
Phenomenon: The so-called "bloodworm" is red or brown in color, with a body length of 1mm and 100mm and a body diameter of 0Between 1 and 1mm, it is usually called "bloodworm". In fact, the creatures we encounter with these characteristics may be different, but have similar ways of survival
The first category is the larvae of the midge;
The second type is water earthworms, also called water silk worms and red worms;
The third type is the wire snake, which is not common in water.
Due to the rapid reproduction of midges larvae and earthworms, they are more tolerant to the environment and are difficult to be inactivated by contact with chlorine.
Reason: Earthworms are particularly easy to grow in humid environments, and they lay eggs and hatch into bloodworms in places where there is water, but the larvae are not very active and often grow in pools. There are two main types of bloodworm breeding:
Unclean faucet environment: The environment of the user's faucet is the main cause of bloodworm. The environmental factors that are conducive to the growth of "bloodworms" are mainly humid in the rainy season, the user's home environment is dirty, there is stagnant water in the kitchen and shower room, there are too many sundries piled up around the faucet, and some faucets are installed (bare) outdoors.
Poor management of secondary water supply facilities. There are two main causes of contamination in the secondary water supply: the lid of the pool is not properly covered, or the overflow hole is not closed with mosquito netsThe pool is too dirty.
Treatment: Strengthen the monitoring and management of the reaction tank, sedimentation tank and filter tank of the water plant, control the frequency of backwashing, and regular cleaning are the prerequisites and necessary measures to prevent bloodworms.
The walls of the water plant should be kept clean to avoid algae production, and the water plant should increase the frequency of cleaning the pool.
The pipe network must ensure that there is a sufficient amount of disinfectant, and the maintenance of the pipe network: the fire hydrant and the end of the pipe network should be released in time.
The stainless steel material that meets the relevant standards should be preferentially selected for the new secondary water supply tank (pool) to ensure that the inner wall is smooth, to avoid the attachment of algae and debris, and to choose the appropriate size and location of the pool.
Keep the area around the user's faucet clean, do not pile up debris, clean up stagnant water in time, and clean up sundries in time to reduce the damp and dirty environment of the faucet.
On the user side, it is recommended to deal with bloodworms when they occur:
Replace the faucet. Replace the faucet with a strainer to prevent bloodworms from crawling in. (After replacing, you can unscrew the filter regularly to observe whether there are still bloodworms);
Clean or sanitize around faucets or drains
Clean the tank or pool.
part04 Taste of Chinese medicine in water.
Phenomenon: Tap water released from the tap has a medicinal smell, but disappears when boiled.
Reason: Users report that there is a medicinal smell in the water, which is generally a reaction to the chlorine smell in the water.
In fact, chlorination is necessary, and it is normal to have a chlorine smell. In order to ensure the safety of drinking water, chlorination must be carried out during the water treatment process to ensure the disinfection effect. According to the national "Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water" GB5749, in order to ensure continuous sterilization and disinfection capabilities and ensure water quality safety, the residual chlorine content of tap water at the time of delivery should be controlled at 03 2mg l, the residual chlorine content of the water at the end of the pipe network shall not be less than 005 mg liters.
The residual chlorine content in the tap water gradually decays during the pipeline. Due to the distance between the user and the water plant, the difference in the concentration of residual chlorine with the distance of the pipe network will lead to the difference in the user's perception of the chlorine smell in the water.
Treatment: Explain to the user that it is normal for tap water to smell chlorine, and it can be drunk with confidence. If the user is sensitive to chlorine taste, you can boil the water and open the lid of the kettle to continue to boil for 1 2 minutes.
part05 fishy odor phenomenon.
Reason: The odor in the water is mainly caused by stale water, that is, the tap water stays in the pipe for too long, and there is no residual chlorine in the pipe, so that microorganisms breed and produce odor. The main fishy smell is the blooming of algae, and when there are substances such as iron and mud in the water, the fishy smell will also appear in the water.
The eutrophication of raw water is the premise of algae blooming, and the water flow is stable and the sunlight is sufficient, and the algae are prone to wild growth.
Treatment: For the fishy odor in the water, as long as the stale water in the end of the pipe is drained regularly, it can be solved.
Once algae are generated, the current conventional water purification process cannot completely solve the problem, unless advanced treatment is used. In water plants without advanced treatment processes, the only way is to control algae blooms, such as: solving raw water pollution and preventing raw water eutrophication;Reduced algae growth conditions;In the case that the algae content is not very high, it can also be solved by strengthening the water purification process supplemented by adding algaecide.
part06 Other odor phenomena.
Phenomenon: Users report that there is a smell of paint, gasoline, plastic, etc. in the water.
Reason: This type of odor mainly refers to chemical tastes. The first reason is that the raw water is polluted, and the dissolved organic pollutants in the raw water, such as phenol compounds and oils, cannot be removed by the conventional water purification process. Second, it is caused by the maintenance and repair of secondary water supply facilities.
Treatment: Find out the cause, if the raw water is polluted, generally add powdered activated carbon at the water intake to adsorb the pollutants in the raw water. If the secondary water supply is polluted, the smell can be removed by flushing the reservoir and pipes.
part07 has a bad taste.
Phenomenon: Users report that tap water tastes bad or changes in taste.
Explanation of the phenomenon: the user's sensitivity is different, the judgment of the taste is different, and the taste is different for different water quality types
In the early stage of switching from self-provided wells to tap water, users will feel the change in taste due to pipe network scheduling and other reasons
Some users judge the residual chlorine in tap water as peculiar smell, which is a misjudgment;
The above reflection is very rare, if it reflects a large number of people and a large area, it may be pipeline pollution.
Treatment: Patiently explain to water users and strengthen the promotion of safe water use.
No matter what type of tap water, it has passed strict inspections and meets the relevant national standards, so it can be drunk with confidence. The above changes are not easy for ordinary people to notice, and the problems are generally reflected in those who are more sensitive to taste. If it is a problem such as pipeline pollution, it should be dealt with in time.
