Academician Wu Kongming, an expert in plant protection, is mainly engaged in the research of agricultural pest monitoring, early warning and control technology, ecological security and risk management technology of transgenic plants. He was born in Gushi County, Henan Province in July 1964. He graduated from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1994 with a Ph.D. degree.
