After the defeat of the Taiping army in Tianjin, in order to escape the Qing army's killing, my grandfather fled to Hebei and has not been heard from since. The wife (i.e., the grandfather's mother) moved to the local area (now Tangquan Town) with five of her siblings (except for the grandfather). At that time, my father had already been born, and my grandmother took me back to my mother's house in Nanyang, Henan Province, and later my grandmother wrote to my hometown, and my relatives in my hometown informed my wife of the new location, so my wife sent someone to take my grandmother and my father here, and the whole family was reluctantly reunited, and settled in Tangquan ever since.
When the Japanese invaded China, in addition to my parents, there were five brothers and sisters in my family, and I was the second. At that time, my brother was studying at Jiangpu Middle School. After five years of study, I changed to a pasta apprenticeship from someone else, but I had no choice, I didn't have the money to study. The third brother only graduated from primary school, and then studied medicine from others, because there was no money to buy books, the third brother borrowed the teacher's medical books to copy, his hands were frostbite every winter, and he had no money to buy a book, so he used needlework and sewing cigarette cartons to write. The fourth brother and sister were relatively young at the time, and the only financial factor in the family was to rely on their father to make some small business (pasta). I myself think that the conditions in my family at that time were not bad, at least there were books to read, you know, 80% of the people in Tangquan Town fled from the famine, and their lives were extremely difficult, so there was a saying at that time that "Tangquan earns money Tangquan, get a hot water bath".
If you want to talk about the atrocities of devils, it is really a gritted hate. Japanese devils can be said to have no humanity at all, and wherever they go, they burn, kill, rob, plunder, and rape. I'm going to tell you what I know.
Once, two devils from Anhui Quanjiao to the countryside to this teahouse to find food and drink, the Kuomintang Tangquan Town Mayor Zeng Caiqin arranged for them to eat, one of the devils claimed to be looking for the flower girl, to the Thousand Buddha Nunnery (near the current Daji Tower), met Chen who was hoeing.
Second, the three Chen brothers (from Shou County, Anhui Province, who fled to this place), the two brothers pointed to the reed swing and said that there was a flower girl inside, and then beat the devil to death with a nail rake from behind and burned his body. The news soon reached the ears of the devils, and they carried out a crazy revenge.
About two days later, more than 40 devils stationed in Dongge and Xige crossed the river (Chuhe) from Wugang and Wangjia overnight in two ways, gathered in Chenqiao, burned and looted all the way to Sanwang Village, and then used heavy money to expose the local villagers. There are two other things that I have personally experienced. One is that I was once caught by devils and carried things for them. Later, I ran away on my own, and the devil came to my house and knocked things over and smashed them. I was only thirteen or fourteen years old. The other thing is that I was once shot in the leg by the devil with a gun, I remember that it was when we ran back, we hid in a lotus leaf pond in the Shiqiao Brigade, the devil actually didn't know that there was someone inside, but the bird in the reeds somehow got startled, and then the devil let go of the gun. I didn't realize that I was shot in the leg at the time, and I found that there was blood on my leg after I went ashore, because I had no money**, the wound was infected and suppurated, and I lay on the bed for eight years.
