For decades, from the pre-Internet era to the present, and in the future, many people have been struggling with the question: which is more important, academic qualifications or abilities? In fact, I personally think that if a person is entangled because of this problem, then most of this person has a bad brain, and belongs to the kind of person who can't eat four dishes in his life.
Because people who have such doubts belong to people who have not understood the nature of society.
In fact, in contemporary society, the most important thing is capital: to put it bluntly, what capital does it have in hand?Whether it is academic qualifications or ability, it can be regarded as a person's capital. Of course, capital is also divided into three, six, and nine differences. And capital replacement is not a one-size-fits-all issue.
For example, for people with certain abilities, it is not difficult to get a diploma. It's easy for a medium-sized business owner to get a diploma from Columbia University. Of course, if the ability is limited and you can't reach this level, then it's time to focus on the diploma.
And after all, diplomas are also divided into three, six, nine and so on. For example, Tsinghua's undergraduate is an undergraduate, and the undergraduate of the people's first undergraduate is also an undergraduate, but these two undergraduates are very different.
For example, some people's ability is reflected in being good at doing problems, and some people's ability is reflected in being good at management, so how ability is measured as capital is not fixed.
And because academic qualifications are divided into grades, the capital that can be converted into academic qualifications is also completely different because of different eras, different schools, and different majors.
Many people who argue about which is more important, academic qualifications or abilities, are often unaware of these issues. Therefore, from the essence of the situation, people who are entangled in such problems, from the mainstream point of view, belong to a group with very poor education and poor ability - after all, people with bad brains may not be able to obtain too good abilities, let alone any too good abilities.
Speaking of which, I think of a self-examination college graduate who worked as a security guard in a supermarket, he said that his academic qualifications can be compared with Tsinghua University and Peking University, and he also said that he obtained a job as a supermarket security guard with a college diploma, so it fully illustrates the importance of academic qualifications, and also shows that self-examinees are easy to find employment, and they are better than unemployed undergraduates who can't find a job - this should be a microcosm of people who are entangled in academic qualifications all day long and more important than ability.
I also know a machining worker in a sweatshop. However, he thinks that he is better than college students, thinks that he has a job by ability, and has a "craft" (his craft, the apprentice needs 3-7 days to count pieces independently), so he feels that ability is more important - he often says that there is time to go to school, and the money is earned back - this should be a microcosm of people who struggle all day long with ability more important than academic qualifications.
In fact, no matter what era of human history, education is only a component of capital. For the capital of academic qualifications, it is okay to regard it as one of the ordinary capitals, and it is not necessary to regard it as the supreme capital, nor to despise it, but to treat it reasonably.
If a person regards academic qualifications as the only capital, then this kind of person probably will not have much room for development and future at all. Even if you get a good job because of your academic qualifications, you will inevitably be eliminated because you only have academic qualifications (ability is also capital).
