Recently, the Lieshan District Court resolved the labor contract dispute case of five migrant workers with arrears of wages through mediation, and successfully helped the migrant workers recover their "hard-earned money".
From July 2022 to November 2022, the fifth plaintiff was hired by the defendant Meng to work for Meng at a construction site. After the work was completed, the defendant failed to pay all the labor payments of the five plaintiffs due to the accident at the construction site, and the defendant issued an IOU. The five plaintiffs repeatedly demanded this money, but the defendant Meng refused to pay it for various reasons, and the five plaintiffs sued the defendant Meng to the court.
In the process of mediation, the undertaking judge fully listened to the demands of both parties, on the one hand, guided the migrant workers to take reasonable measures to protect their legitimate rights and interests, and on the other hand, explained the law to the defendants, focusing on the legal consequences of arrears of migrant workers' wages, and informed the five plaintiffs of the current situation of living difficulties, and persuaded Meng to understand the hardships and difficulties of migrant workers making money to support their families. After the judge's mediation, the two parties finally reached an agreement. The defendant promised to let the five plaintiffs get paid before the Spring Festival and have a good year.
There is no trivial matter in people's livelihood, and protecting the hard-earned money of migrant workers and solving the problem of migrant workers' salary "worries" is not only related to the vital interests of the people, but also related to social fairness, justice, harmony and stability. The Lieshan District Court will continue to deepen the management of litigation sources, effectively do practical things for the people, solve problems, and continuously enhance the people's sense of gain, happiness and security.
