Recently, Huawei announced that it will cooperate with Changan to jointly establish a new smart car company, which has aroused great attention in the domestic automobile market.
In this regard, as Huawei's initial and most in-depth partner, Celis subsequently issued a statement saying that it had received an invitation to co-invest and was actively discussing matters related to participation in investment and cooperation.
At the beginning of this month, the November sales report card of new energy vehicles was announced, and among the new energy vehicle companies, the most eye-catching is Huawei's smart car brand AITO. According to the data, in November, AITO Wenjie delivered a total of about 1880,000 units. Among them, the new M7 delivered 1 new car520,000 vehicles, delivered more than 10,000 for two consecutive months, with a cumulative delivery of more than 270,000 units.
But at the same time, Cialis is also facing many problems, such as an irreversible net loss, dismal sales of its own brand models, and doubts from Huawei's foundry.

Huawei expands its circle of automotive friends
On November 26, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. announced that it signed a "Memorandum of Investment Cooperation" with Huawei Technologies in Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. After negotiation between the two parties, Huawei plans to establish a company engaged in R&D, design, production, sales, and service of automotive intelligent systems and component solutions, and the company intends to invest in the target company and carry out strategic cooperation.
Changan Automobile also mentioned in the announcement that the target company will gradually open its equity to investors such as existing strategic partner car companies and car companies with strategic value, and become a company with diversified equity. In this transaction, Changan Automobile and its affiliates intend to invest in the acquisition of the equity of the target company, with a proportion of no more than 40%, and the specific equity ratio, capital contribution amount and term will be discussed separately by the two parties.
Changan Automobile's announcement disclosed that the main business scope of Huawei's target company is automotive intelligent driving solutions, automotive intelligent cockpit, intelligent vehicle digital platform, intelligent vehicle cloud, AR-HUD and intelligent car lights, etc., and will inject relevant technologies, assets and personnel dedicated to the target company's business scope into the target company, and the specific business scope and loading plan will be determined in the final transaction documents.
According to the MOU, Huawei intends to integrate the core technologies and resources of the intelligent vehicle solution business (automotive BU) into the new company, and Changan Automobile and related parties will intend to invest in the company and work with Huawei to support the company's future development. The new company will strive to become a world-class leader in the automotive intelligent driving system and components industry, and as an open platform serving the automotive industry, it will open its equity to investors such as existing strategic partner car companies and car companies with strategic value, and become a diversified company.
The separation of Huawei's intelligent vehicle solution business means that Huawei's circle of friends in the field of car manufacturing has expanded again. According to Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei, CEO of Device BG, and Chairman of Intelligent Vehicle Solution BU, there are currently four partners in Huawei's automotive smart car model, including Chery, JAC, and BAIC in addition to Cialis.
Among them, the most well-known is the AITO Wenjie brand jointly created by Huawei and Cialis, which currently includes M5, M7 and the upcoming M9, covering new energy SUV models.
In addition, Huawei and Chery are aiming at pure electric coupes and SUVsHuawei and BAIC Blue Valley will launch high-end intelligent pure electric cars in subdivided fields, while Huawei and JAC Motors may jointly develop larger new energy MPV models.
According to Huawei's 2022 financial report, Huawei has invested a total of 3 billion US dollars (about RMB 219.) since the establishment of the intelligent vehicle solution BU5.3 billion yuan), and the R&D team has reached the scale of 7,000 people.
Cialis responded that it was actively arguing for participation
In response to the news of Huawei's establishment of a new smart car company, Cialis Group Co., Ltd. issued a statement on the official WeChat that night in response, and said that Cialis has received an invitation to jointly invest in the target company and jointly participate in the creation of an electrification and intelligent open platform, and the company is actively demonstrating the relevant matters related to participation in investment and cooperation.
Ceris welcomed Huawei to set up an independent company for automotive intelligent systems and component solutions with open equity to provide a more open intelligent foundation for the automotive industry, and take another milestone step in promoting the construction of an open platform for the electrification and intelligence of China's automotive industry.
In the past three years, Sailis has cooperated deeply with Huawei, further promoted the high-quality strategy, and jointly created AITO Wenjie models, which have been widely loved by users and recognized by the marketSailis and Huawei Chebu have in-depth cooperation in products and solutions such as intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit, and are the first to commercialize AITO models, and the two parties will continue to explore the innovative path of cross-border cooperation.
At present, Celis is Huawei's vehicle partner with the deepest cooperation, the widest range, and the largest installed volume. According to the relevant provisions of the long-term strategic cooperation agreement signed by the two parties, the strategic adjustment of Chebu will not affect the long-term strategic partnership between the two parties, the parts supply relationship to Cialis, and the continuous provision of products and services for AITO car owners and potential users.
Celis is Huawei's strategic partner with the deepest cooperation in the automotive business. Based on the strategic agreement signed by both parties to deepen cooperation, the two parties will continue to deepen joint R&D and joint design, serve users wholeheartedly, provide better products for AITO users and potential users, and launch more high-end models.
Born from well-off shares
According to public information, Cialis was founded in 1986 and was formerly known as Xiaokang Automobile. On June 15, 2016, it was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and the controlling shareholder is Chongqing Xiaokang Holdings, and the actual controller is Zhang Xinghai. The company's flagship product in the early years is Dongfeng Xiaokang van, which has been known as the three giants of China's micro-car with Wuling Hongguang and Chang'an Star, and it is precisely because of the popularity of the well-off brand across the country that Yu'an Group was renamed Chongqing Xiaokang Automobile Group in 2007 and renamed Chongqing Xiaokang Industrial Group in 2011
"Sailis" was the first new energy vehicle brand released by Xiaokang Co., Ltd. in 2019, which did not attract much attention from the market at that time. According to public reports, the cumulative sales of Cialis in 2020 are only more than 1,000 units, and the cumulative sales from January to February 2021 are only 179 units, which is very bleak.
Since then, it has reached a cooperation with Huawei in March 2021, which has led to the annual sales of the Celis SF5 exceeding 8,000 units, and the company name has been directly changed to Celis.
In the view of Zhang Xinghai, the founder of Xiaokang Co., Ltd., the name change marks the third new journey of Xiaokang Co., Ltd., which is a kind of trend and a response to the current smart electric vehicle track.
However, while the world is selling well, the sales of Celis's own brand models are not optimistic.
In the first 10 months of this year, the Cialis SF5 sold 3,164 units, less than a fraction of the sister model Wenjie M5. The new brand of Landian Automobile under Sailis, its first model, Landian E5, is a plug-in hybrid SUV of more than 4.7 meters, and the listing price in September is only 13190,000 yuan, and the price has been reduced to 9 for a limited time in November980,000 yuan.
Cialis is still not out of the red
Since the transformation of the new energy vehicle track, Cialis has never come out of the quagmire of losses.
Cialis has been losing money continuously since 2020, and the company has lost 172.9 billion, 182.4 billion and 383.2 billion yuan. On the one hand, the loss of Cialis comes from the increase in the company's cost of sales. Although the company's automobile sales have maintained a substantial growth trend, it is reflected in the fact that the operating income of Cialis in 2022 reached a record high of 34.1 billion yuan, and then the sales expenses increased nearly fourfold year-on-year to 481.9 billion yuan, resulting in the company's "increase in revenue but not profit".
According to the third quarter report of this year, the revenue in the third quarter was 564.8 billion yuan, down 47% year-on-year25%, with a net loss of 9500 million yuan;Revenue in the first three quarters was 166800 million yuan, down nearly 28% year-on-year, with a net loss of 229.4 billion yuan. The company said that the change in operating income in the third quarter was mainly affected by the year-on-year decline in sales, and the new M7 series models were released and delivered in mid-to-late September, and with the gradual delivery of products, operating income is expected to achieve significant growth.
Some analysts believe that from the perspective of revenue in the first half of this year, there is still a big gap between Cialis and NIO, and the net profit margin and gross profit margin are at the downstream level among A-share passenger car companies. In addition, from the perspective of R&D and sales expenses, unlike "Wei Xiaoli", which has been expanding R&D in recent years, due to Huawei's deep involvement, Cialis's R&D expenses have not increased much in recent years, but sales expenses have increased significantly.
Yan Jinghui, a member of the Expert Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association, previously said in an interview that Changan Automobile is a traditional car company with a longer product line and earlier entry into the field of new energy, so it has its own unique advantages. Cialis is a new power brand, which has been established for a short time, and the target customer group still belongs to the high-end part. The cooperation between Huawei and Cialis is more prominent in the new energy and high-end sectors. From the perspective of cooperation, Huawei and Celis have their own benefits, and the two are not in conflict.
