IT Home reported on December 14 that Google announced the full launch of its AI-powered completion and generation tool, Duet AI for Developers. The new version of Duet AI integrates datasets from 25 partner companies to help developers with tasks such as building platform-specific apps.
Duet AI can now leverage data from partners such as Confluent, Hashicorp, and MongoDB to assist developers in writing ** for their platform. Google says it will also integrate documentation and knowledge from Datadog, JetBrains, and Langchain to help developers with test automation, problem solving, and bug fixes.
Duet AI for Developers and Duet AI in Security Operations are the first Duet AI products for enterprise users under Google Cloud, and Google plans to launch more early next year, including Duet AI for BigQuery, Looker, database products, Apigee, and Colab Enterprise.
Google positions Duet AI as an enterprise-level product, and they believe that these AI tools will not replace developers' coding skills, but are designed to complement them by increasing productivity. According to Google, early adopter Turing saw a 33% increase in revenue after using Duet AI.
Developers can try Gemini Pro for free with Google AI Studio. AI Studio's free tier offers up to 60 API requests per minute, which is enough for most application development needs. The tool is currently available in more than 20 languages and features such as log summarization, error interpretation, and automated test generation.
Vertex AI will also provide free access to Gemini Pro and Gemini Pro Vision until their official release early next year, with the same restrictions as AI Studio.
Duet AI for Developers is available for free until February 1, 2024, and then costs $19 per month after that (note: currently about 136 RMB). In addition, Duet AI in Security Operations is generally available as part of Google Cloud's Security Operations Enterprise and Enterprise Plus packages.
On the other hand, GitHub, which is owned by Microsoft, has announced that GitHub Copilot Chat will be fully available to businesses and individuals in December as part of the current GitHub Copilot subscription.
