In response to the issue of conservation, Changcheng Town has started from the subtleties and managed and maintained these ancient trees in a scientific way. Through the linkage of towns, communities and grids, we can fully understand the situation of ancient chestnut trees, do a good job in information registration, and ensure that each ancient tree has corresponding protection measures and maintenance responsibilities. To this end, a core protected area has also been established, with a maintenance area of 333 square kilometers, and strive to establish this area as an agricultural cultural heritage of Shandong Province.
In order to promote the development of the industry, Changcheng Town makes full use of the advantages of traditional chestnut planting, invests more resources to optimize the planting environment, establishes professional cooperatives, and strengthens technology promotion and research cooperation to improve the production level of chestnut. At present, the planting area of chestnut in the town has reached 120,000 acres, the annual output of chestnuts has also increased significantly.
In order to better protect this precious resource, Changcheng Town has continuously expanded the chestnut industry chain, developed a variety of chestnut deep-processing products, and created the "Laijili" brand.
