The other half of the world

In his philosophical work "The Feast", Plato said that man was created as a complete and identical being, but was punished by the gods and split in half, and the lonely half was left in the world, forever seeking the other half that was perfectly compatible with him. Here's the context: Zeus defeated the Titans in a battle against the giants who rebelled against his rule, and cut the Titans in two to establish his power forever. Humans are the descendants of the Titans, and as such, all humans have an innate impulse to chase after their severed other half. Why do people have love?Because love is the pursuit of fulfillment, and its foundation is the lack of core. Man is not complete in itself, and loves because he lacks it;When a person finds his other half and becomes one with another body, he is a complete person.

The sad footnote to the story is that the world is so big that no one can guarantee that we will be able to find the perfect other half, and we may miss out on a lifetime of loneliness and regret. Love is due to fate, love is rare in the world, and it is so difficult for an incomplete circle to find the lost half of oneself!Every human being is an incomplete individual split in half, which we seek all our lives, but we may not be able to find. Because there are so many people in this world who have been split, sometimes you think you have found it, but in fact it is just thinking.

Perhaps there is something wrong with the statement that loving someone is about finding the other half of your life. I think the optimistic attitude should be that everyone is complete, life is perfect since the beginning of life, each of us is a circle, very full, very plump, we roll forward, until one day, we meet another circle, because there are too many similarities, we are united, but we are still two different circles, there will be an intersection between us, but we are still independent of each other. Regarding love, I prefer to understand it this way: each of us is an independent circle, and when we look for a lover, we are looking for a circle, looking for another circle.

Still, I like this "half" perspective. In traditional Chinese culture, perfection and perfection are not considered to be a very auspicious state. There is such a view in the Book of Changes: The "change" of yin and yang is the norm in heaven and earth, and it is impossible to maintain any state for a long time. When everything reaches the extreme, it will develop in the opposite direction, which is the so-called "the pole of things must be opposed". And half, it seems that there is an unfulfilled regret, but it is also a kind of fulfillment, a kind of down-to-earth settlement. Perfection and completeness are the state of life that many people hope to achieve. For this reason, some people do not hesitate to force this, but forget that the world is impermanent, it is difficult to do everything as expected, and it is always necessary to use "half" to reconcile at the right time. "Half, half" is an equilibrium between the two extremes. Half, there is a romantic reverie, but also a real attitude to life and wisdom of life. Perhaps shuttling between this half and half can also achieve a kind of fulfillment. Of course, this half and half of the truth is only understood when you come here, and it is in vain for those who have not come to say it.

The world is always divided into two: half sea and half land;Half sky, half earth;Half day, half night;Half spring and summer, half autumn and winter;Half sun, half shade;Half joy, half desolation;Half in the dust, half in the wind;Half from the father, half from the mother;Half is fast-moving, elusive, unpredictable, and the other half is eternal and immutable – I wonder what that mysterious dividing line is
