At the meeting, Yang Xiaolei, deputy dean of the Wuhan Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Peking University and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University Law School, released the legal vertical model and the "Peking University Yuan Law Intelligent System" developed based on the capabilities of the large model.
Yang Xiaolei said that the system was jointly tackled by the scientific research team of the Intelligent Law Laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Peking University and the Legal Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of Peking University. Based on the 10 billion parameter Chinese legal vertical field model developed by the team, the "Peking University Yuan Law Intelligent System" substantively solves the problem of AI illusion in the legal field and the shortcomings of the large model in the real legal service scene, and shows the new ability of the large model to be applied in the legal field.
At the same time, with the support of the National Intelligent Social Governance Experimental Comprehensive Base of East Lake High-tech Zone, the system will open up a path for the application of artificial intelligence in the legal field, and is expected to realize the intelligent transformation and upgrading of legal technology.
In Yang Xiaolei's view, the system combines the reasoning logic of syllogism with the ability to extract accurate factual elements. It completely abandons the mechanical consultation method of the traditional legal consultation system to list legal provisions, accurately understands the natural language of the consultee, actively guides the legal consultation process, accurately summarizes the facts and problems from the descriptions of users who lack legal knowledge, and completes complex legal reasoning in the process of multiple rounds of dialogue, so as to give a highly operable legal consultation report.
In the experience area outside the venue, when the reporter experienced the "Peking University Yuanfa Intelligent System", he found that the operation page of the system was simple and practical. At present, the system is being applied in relevant legal fields.
Yang Xiaolei said that legal artificial intelligence cannot replace people at the level of value ontology, but at the level of tool value, it can effectively empower the work of the legal profession.
"Peking University Yuan Method Intelligent System" is an important achievement of interdisciplinary research at Peking University. Based on this system, it is also possible to develop knowable, credible and reliable legal aid service applications for the public, case summary tools and legal search tools for legal workers, and artificial intelligence compliance officer systems for corporate in-house counsel.
Wu Zhiqiang, executive dean of the Wuhan Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Peking University, said that the application of AI in the legal field is a valuable challenging and innovative exploration. The "Peking University Yuan Law Intelligent System" aims to improve the efficiency of legal work and the level of legal governance, and provide better legal services for all sectors of society.
