As a university teacher, I have found that some students always seize rare opportunities

As a university teacher, I have found that there is a kind of person who is always very lucky, and after working in a university for 7 years, I have found that some students always seem to be able to seize some rare opportunities in life, and it seems that they are always "lucky".

From my observations, these lucky ones may not be accidental. Maybe it's because they know that the teacher is just an ordinary person.

Many students are very afraid of teachers. I didn't dare to take the initiative to face it, I didn't dare to communicate in depth, and I hurriedly ended it when I saw the teacher coming to me with a "good teacher", wishing he hadn't seen himself.

But the students who can catch up with the good opportunities are different. Let's take a simple example.

Go to the teacher's office. Ordinary students went without any preparation and in fear. What about them?Start by grabbing two biscuits from the dorm room, or pass by the bubble tea shop to buy a cheap cup of tea. When I got to the office, I gave the things to the teacher. "Teacher, I like to eat xx very much, I'll give you some to taste", easily open the topic, and the initiative is in your own hands.

These students are well versed in the art of interpersonal communication. They know that teachers are also human beings, and they also have emotional fluctuations and their own preferences, and they also want to be cared for and loved by their students. Know that all teachers want to create a harmonious atmosphere for their students, a more relaxed and enjoyable teacher-student relationship.

Of course, some students may scoff at it, thinking that this is a deliberate way to curry favor with the teacher and a way to "cheat". Actually, it's more of a piece of wisdom, an ability to understand human nature and social rules.

Because on a deeper level, it's an application of the basic needs of human nature – that everyone wants to be recognized, respected, understood.

Then again, do teachers care about those two cookies? No. What they care about is the emotional needs and emotional satisfaction of "it turns out that I have a good reputation, and there are still one or two students who are willing to be friends with me".

So, when we say, "These kinds of people are lucky," we mean that they have learned a wisdom for communicating and building relationships. In society and in the workplace, too, those who understand and adapt to social rules and know how to build good relationships with different people are more likely to catch up with good opportunities.

Therefore, true "luck" is not a fall from the sky, but an insight into human nature. In this process, the key is not what you have, but how you know how to be kind to others and navigate the ocean of relationships. This ability is far more valuable than the knowledge in books.
