Later, Ling Shuhua recalled:"After Shima crashed, he came forward to ask me to hand over the Shima box, he said that he wanted to sort out a book for Shima to commemorate, I thought that there were two copies of Xiaoman's private diary in the box, and two or three copies of Shima's English diary, since he said not to show it casually, he trusted me, so he handed it over to me for storage, and entrusted me to write a biography for him.
"For these reasons, and at the same time, I know that if I make Hu Shi, he has friends over there every day to talk about Shima, and these diaries may cause trouble. Because Xiaoman's diaries (two books) also often remember some rights and wrongs, and they do not include names. Thinking of this, I wrote back to Hu Shi and said that I could only give her the Eight Treasure Chest and ask him to give it to Lu Xiaoman. Later he really took it. ”
Ling Shuhua's original intention was to ask Hu Shi to give the box to Lu Xiaoman, after all, Lu Xiaoman was Xu Zhimo's wife, and there was Lu Xiaoman's diary in it, but Hu Shi didn't listen, but gave the box to Lin Huiyin.
However, after Lin Huiyin got the box, he was very angry, because there was only half of Xu Zhimo's diary in it, which only recorded some very ordinary things, and the rest of the diary must have been hidden by Ling Shuhua.
Lin Huiyin had no choice but to go to Hu Shi for help again, Hu Shi was not too troublesome, and went to Ling Shuhua again, grinding hard and soaking, so he asked for all of Xu Zhimo's diaries and gave them to Lin Huiyin.
Moreover, Hu Shi promised Ling Shuhua that he would sort out three copies of Xu Zhimo's diary and give it to Ling Shuhua, but in the end, he did not send it.
I have to say that Hu Shi did a bit inauthentic in this matter, which damaged his reputation.
