AC Milan have recently started to be influenced by the 16-year-old Camarda, so they are looking for a promising young star under the age of 16 who has not yet signed a formal contract.
Their eyes have recently fallen on 15-year-old Mattia Marello from Udinese, the Italian left-back who bears a striking resemblance to Theofi and is even three days younger than Camalda. He is expected to make his Serie A debut this season. Camarda is a talented centre-forward produced by the AC Milan Academy.
His career has been skipping levels against players three or four years older than him, and he has been training with the first team not long ago due to his ability. In Milan's match against Fiorentina, Camarda broke the record for the youngest player to play in Serie A at the age of 15 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Subsequently, against Frosinone, he was given another chance to play. The series of Serie A appearances have caught the attention of a number of big clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, Paris, Borussia Dort, Liverpool and Chelsea, who are actively communicating with his parents in the hope of signing the Italian teenager to his first professional contract when he turns 16.
Of course, parent club Milan are currently in the lead. Milan are so pleased with developing a promising star like Camarda that they are starting to focus more on young players who are not yet on professional contracts. Recently, Moncada's scouting department spotted Marello as a potential signing, who is only 15 years old from Udinese.
Marello was born on March 13, 2008, three days younger than Camarda. He was promoted from Udinese's Under-17s to the Under-19s this summer, and last season he broke the record for the youngest appearance in an Italian youth team with team-mate Matteo Parma.
Marello can play as both left-back and left-sided midfielder, and his overall style is very similar to Te'o's, with excellent speed and delicate technique at the feet, as well as a knack for precise crosses.
As an attacking full-back, Marello has made 15 appearances in the Italian Youth League, Youth Cup and Under-17 this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
He has been named in the Udinese first-team squad under Gabriele Jofi several times since the start of the season and is expected to soon become the second 15-year-old to make his Serie A appearance this season. Of course, he was unable to break the record for youngest appearance by Kamalda, who had already made his debut 10 days after he was only three days younger than Kamalda.
Originally from Slovenia, Marello has an agency team led by South American Marcelo Simeone who specializes in unearthing young talent. This summer, he managed to bring 22-year-old German defender Jan Bisek to Inter Milan for a transfer fee of 7 million euros.
At the moment, the 15-year-old is not yet set to sign a professional contract, but AC Milan, Manchester City and Red Bull have all shown keen interest in him. Marello is expected to sign a permanent contract when he turns 16 on March 13, 2024, at which point AC Milan will try to sign him on a three-year contract, while also potentially stopping other pursuits for him.
Italy have always been the cradle of left-backs, with the likes of Facchetti, Maldini, Grosso and Spinazzola all legends, and whether Marello can inherit their glory has become the focus of attention.
