Plymouth and Queens Park Rangers drew 0-0 in their Champions League tie at Lofters Road. Plymouth were sent off in the 25th minute for a brutal foul by Dan Skar on Ilias Chail. Prior to this draw, Plymouth had been the better side and it was a fluke that Queens Park Rangers were able to keep the draw in place. The home side conceded easily on a number of occasions in the opening minutes, with Felder, Xaire and Cakai all having rough performances.
Despite the downside, Plymouth excelled in the second half and limited Queens Park Rangers' attacking opportunities. Goalkeeper Conor Hazard easily defused two weak shots from Lyndon Dikkes headers, while Chaile's shot was off target. Queens Park Rangers failed to breach the Plymouth defence and missed a chance to secure a fourth straight win that would see them out of the relegation zone. The draw saw Queens Park Rangers continue their recent excellent form under manager Matty Cifuentes, who have lost just one of their last seven matches.
The points earned helped them close the gap to the teams above, although they remained in the bottom three. Queens Park Rangers have been excellent defensively, keeping three games in a row without conceding a goal, but their lack of creating clear chances in their attack on Plymouth has highlighted the problems that need to be improved in attack. Overall, Plymouth's defence was outstanding, despite having only ten players on the pitch for most of the game, fighting hard to secure a point. Queens Park Rangers were disappointed not to be able to capitalise on their man-in-one advantage and will need to work on their attack to turn the draw into victory.
