On this list, tourists from different countries give high praise to France's tourism resources, 37 world cultural sites, ancient cities, cultural and artistic towns, castles, beaches and ski resorts. Of France's GDP, the tourism sector contributes 97% of GDP, and of these taxes, 30% is provided by foreign tourists. Compared with developed regions such as Europe and the United States, China's tourism industry has developed relatively slowly, with only 710,000 foreign tourists in 1978 and only more than 300 million US dollars in tourism revenue. However, in 1994, China ranked among the world's top 10 in terms of sales and turnover of foreign tourists, and in 2006, it soared to become one of the world's five major tourist powers, known as the "tourism miracle".
