Hello everyone!2024 is just around the corner, and on the occasion of saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new, we would like to extend our best wishes to all of you in Beijing, China!
In 2023, we successfully held the 5th WFCMS Member Congress in Manila, Philippines, elected a new board of directors and board of supervisors, completed the replacement of the old and the new, drew a new blueprint for the development of WFCMS, and sounded the clarion call for the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine to embark on a new journey of high-quality development. The continuous struggle of the previous councils has laid a solid foundation for the development of today's WFCMS.
Today, WFCMS is widely involved in global health governance and is committed to the international development, exchange and cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine. It has in-depth cooperation with many international organizations such as the World Health Organization, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the International Organization for Standardization, and the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and actively voices the voice of international organizations of traditional Chinese medicine, and its influence has become more extensive and far-reaching.
Today, WFCMS actively organizes and carries out academic exchange activities. WFCMS has always been committed to promoting international exchanges and cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine, and has successfully built a leading international academic conference platform, namely the World Congress of Chinese Medicine, international regional academic conferences and branch academic conferences.
Today, WFCMS actively researches and formulates international standards for traditional Chinese medicine and expands the training of international talents. In 2023, there will be 29 new project standards, including 21 standards for international organizations and 7 standards for branches1 standardized technical report. In 2023, professional examinations such as traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, acupuncture, and medicinal diet, international student examinations, and senior professional title evaluations will be standardized, involving Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. More than 200 candidates from 9 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Argentina, have taken the exams.
Today's WFCMS actively promotes the construction of periodicals and information networks. Nearly 20 and 50 are in operation, with an average annual information release volume of more than 4,000. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese journal of World Chinese Medicine was selected as the 2023 edition of the Chinese medical core journal (referred to as the Chinese core journal) of Peking University's "Overview of Chinese Core Journals", which was successfully promoted to the industry's recognized dual-core high-level journal, and it is also the youngest journal selected for the dual-core. As a journal indexed by ESCI, the English journal of World Chinese Medicine won its first impact factor of 44 points.
2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of WFCMS. After 20 years of hard work, today's WFCMS has stood at a new starting point. WFCMS will continue to anchor the goal, work hard, move forward bravely, keep in mind the original mission, show the responsibility of TCM people in the new era, and make WFCMS a better tomorrow!
Tomorrow's WFCMS will consolidate and strengthen cooperation with international organizations. Strengthen the contact with international organizations such as the World Health Organization, the International Organization for Standardization, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and the United Nations Economic and Social Council, strive to consolidate the academic status of traditional Chinese medicine as a medical science in the world, promote the entry of traditional Chinese medicine into the medical and health systems of various countries, and gradually build our association into a non-leading organization with greater influence in the world.
Tomorrow's WFCMS will actively contribute to the "Belt and Road" initiative. Adhere to the Silk Road spirit of mutual learning and mutual benefit, strengthen cultural exchanges and service cooperation with countries along the Silk Road and countries and regions around the world, strive to promote the international dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine culture, and promote more traditional Chinese medicine services and products to enter the international medical and health care market.
Tomorrow's WFCMS will strengthen organizational construction. Give full play to the leading role of the Council and build the Council into a strong and powerful leadership collectiveAccording to the development of the situation and market demand, strengthen strategic research, and grasp the healthy development direction of WFCMS;Strengthen unity, mutual respect, communication, and cohesion among members.

WFCMS will continue to devote itself to the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine, deepen international exchanges and cooperation, and let the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine benefit more people.
