When it comes to stories in Buddhism, some people will think of myths, but I don't talk about myths today, but I will tell real stories.
I am a student of Buddhism, and I hope to use the knowledge I have learned to help you, and I hope that the articles I write will also be helpful to you. Okay to get back to business.
It is said that in the Xiantong period of the Tang Dynasty, there was a high monk Zaoguang Zen Master, one day, he took advantage of the bright moonlight, meditated on the top of the mountain, his heart suddenly opened up, and opened the original. With a side: "The clouds contain a thousand mountains and quiet, the moon is bright everywhere, and when you clean it up, where can you get your whereabouts." He was filled with joy and returned to his lodgings. I happened to see a thief, stealing his things. Instead of alarming the thief, he stood at the door and watched him quietly look for what he wanted to steal. Looking for a long time, there is nothing to make the thief look at the eyes, the thief hangs his head and wants to go, but he didn't expect to meet the Zen master of Zaoguang at the door, the thief was startled, stunned in place, I don't know how to be good. Zen Master Zaoguang said with a pleasant face: "You came from afar to see me, but returned empty-handed, always feel inappropriate, the wind is cold in the middle of the night, be careful of the cold, I have a coat, for you to resist the wind and cold, put on and then go." As he spoke, he took off his cloak and draped it over the thief. The thief bowed his head in shame and turned away. Looking at the thief who was getting farther and farther away, Zen Master Zaoguang sighed: "Alas!."What a poor man, if only I could give him another bright moon. ”
The next morning, when Zen Master Moko opened the door, he was pleasantly surprised to see that the coat he had given out last night was neatly stacked at the door. Zen Master Zaoguang was overjoyed and said to himself: "He received the bright moon I sent. "This thief is the future Zen Master of Yuan, the ** of the Zen Master of Moguang.
After the story is finished, we have to find something valuable from this, which is inspiring and helpful to our own practice, so that it can be meaningful, and while reading the story, we should think about the problem, for example, how do people who study Buddhism practice when they practice difficult paths for self-benefit and altruismIs there a role model? What kind of heart is the Dharma?Reading the story with questions and seeing yourself as the owner of the story will benefit you the most.
Specifically, my own opinion.
1, the enlightenment poem of Zen Master Zaoguang, the realm that will appear if you work hard. It's the direction you want to work towards.
2. When Zen Master Zaoguang found the thief, he did not blame the thief, nor did he beat and scold the thief, but took pity on the thief. Give him his own clothes, and be as merciful and loving as a mother treats her own child. It is the attitude that you should learn to Xi. This is the cause of goodness.
3, Zen Master Zaoguang, I also want to give the thief "bright moon", this is wisdom, and it is the light of doing good deeds and accumulating merits. This is Bodhi Cause.
4, Zaoguang Zen Master, although not rich, still gave his clothes to thieves, which is difficult to do.
5, Zaoguang Zen Master did not ask for anything in return for the thief. This is a pure act for the sake of not being defiled.
6. When Zen Master Zaoguang found that his clothes came back, it was also when he was happy. It's a matter of rejoicing.
It's like six points, and it's worth learning Xi. When I read the story, I not only watched the excitement and had fun, but also saw what I should learn from the protagonist Xi, such a mentality.
This is the state of mind that a practitioner should have. Friends who read the article, if you think, there is anything that needs to be added, leave a message to me.
Finally, I wish you all: you can, you can realize what you have learned, you can do something in vain, and you will be able to attain Bodhi early enlightenment.
